Hey everyone,
Dinner turned out not too bad ... even the usual moaners didn't moan ... or maybe they were too scared to :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Thankfully the bridge didn't affect me at all, I'm hoping not many ( if any) really suffered tbh as it is a main artery of traffic for Scotland ... Atleast that's it sorted for cars now and a new bridge next year should ease it even more
Went looking for Hob's today, of course we couldnt have a normal hib now could we, oh no it had to be an outsized one that needs replaced .... no point in spending £100 is there really ?
We've seen on that will do, it has a Wok ring on it for Mr El as well but it's a tad expensive at £437 so now trying to find one that will fit the space we have be able to handle the weight of cast iron and have a Wok ring ... all for cheaper ... wellllllllllllll I do like a challenge I spose0 -

This is the one were looking at ... we can get it for £437 though ... it's the size we need and has the cast iron weight thing and 2 Wok burners ( we only really need 1 tbh)
Whaddya think ?0 -
Neff is usually money well spent in my opinion0

Well cooker ordered, we had the choice of a few different cookers that would've fitted the space but landed up going with the one above as it seemed the best fit for our needs, there was a good Bosch cooker that was £30 cheaper but Mr El decided the Neff one it was ... the bad bit ... it doesn't arrive till Jan 28th ... sigh
Future daughter in law informed us this morning that our downstairs bathroom has sprung a leak in the ceiling, we have a flat roof on that part of the house ( it's where we sit in summer) so I will need to try and find a non slip rubberised concrete covering to try and protect the roof ... we will do it in summer and keep our fingers crossed it's not too bad till we get it done in the better weather...0 -
Was going to say it seemed a good choice, as we 'wowwed' when we found an AEG 5 ring gas hob in the house we bought, but then discovered if we used the wok in the middle we couldn't use any of the other rings as the wok was so big. It is good as we can use big pans on the four outer rings but never use the inner wok one. But yours has 2 at each end, so presumably can use the other end for other cooking when you use a wok at the other end
Sorry to hear about the roof leak0 -

Hey See
Wonderful to speak to you, it seems like ages since we last spoke ... will need to send u a pm
Told Mr El about what you said and he went "That makes so much sense glad we got the one we did now "
How's the dark taxing going ? You still managing ? ...wonder how KC is doing with it as well
Will try and do an end of year round up if I get a chance ... will need to figure out how much the tax man has paid me lol0 -
:hello: Erm, in relation to going tax dark, I earn so little now its not really a problem
but the rental income from the apartment in France, even though reduced, takes me over. So I'm looking at changing the basis of my tax declaration, because then you can set off a loss in one part of your accounts to another section
2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
That sounds like a good idea KC,
I filled in a R85 form the other day so that I don't pay tax on savings ... I was both excited and worried at the same time lol0 -
Reading KC's diary has got me thinking retirement again, well to be honest it is never really far from my mind at all, but reading KC's diary reiterates the importance of the psychological journey that comes with life.
Mr El and I plan on moving away when we retire, we're not sure where tbh, Spain, France, Portugal or maybe somewhere else, France appears to be my fave so far but it's not set in stone.
Nothing is set in stone and I think that's getting to me, I have loads of plans that I want to happen ... but either I can't move forward or ... well or something is stopping me ... but I can't think what
Maybe the fear that something goes wrong? Maybe the idea once it's set in stone it's going to happen and it's a big leap?
We won't be retiring for 17 years or so so it's not like it needs to be all sorted just now, but even just now I can't quite work out how much we will need ... or how much to save
This is going to be an interesting quandary to work through I reckon0 -
Enjoying all the chat about budgets. I am great at setting budgets, recording spends and totting everything up at the end of the month. I don't actually stick to the budgets tho! :rotfl:0
