Right reciepts have been tallied up and the budget set for next month.
It was a very stressful time for Mr El, he has had to take some pain killers and have a rest before we tackle the food planning
It is going to be a very tight month ahead and we will not manage to pay the visa bill off, but we are working through it together and that is the most important part I reckon.
I currently work with a two book system ( cant do spread sheets)
The first book has any money at all that is income, so wages, bursaries £5 from Halifax etc.
The second one is for all outgoings, I have seperate headlines like diesel, phone bill, insurance etc etc.
I am currently considering a third one, our planned budget, I take a note every month of how much we have coming in and the plan for going out so mortgage diesel etc but at the end of the month it goes in the bin, I'm thinking maybe have a book where I can see a trend over a period of time, so in 6 months we can look back and see how we managed this month etc.
The down side would be I will now have three books on the go ( although tbh I only fill in the incoming book twice a month, once for Mr El's wage once for mine) and I would only fill the budget in once a month as well ... but three books is a lot of books to keep a wee eye on, but it does give a more fuller picture over time.
Anyone got any opinions ?0 -
Go for three wee books.
Tell Mr El to take care
