I agree.
I was told i would fall in love with a man with an 8 letter surname and i would have 3 more children and another wouldnt survive.
They was right about everything but according to them my spirit will begin to fade in 5 years time. I'll be dead in 10.
Of course when they get part of it right, you naturally assume the rest will be right too.

Those of you who genuinely think you'd encountered someone with psychic abilities - I implore you - please ask them to try out for JREF 1 million dollar challenge. They'll have a fair test that checks whether they're any better than pure chance. Just imagine - they could be the first person in the entire history of the world to reliably show that psychic powers exist. Maybe they're selfless, not be interested in the money - but enter anyway and give the money to a charity of their choosing. That sort of discovery for science would be world changing.
If they believe they're right - prove it!Yes Your Dukeiness

"Your loved one is at peace now and is happy, they are with another relative.
They are proud of you and want you to enjoy your life and live it to the full."
You'll pretty much get this.
If loved ones could communicate from beyond the grave then why would they need to do it through an unknown stranger? Surely they had a much closer bond to you than a stranger......0 -
I've seen a few, purely for the entertainment value.
The funniest one was when my mum hired one to come to our family home and do readings. There's photos of me and my siblings as children all over the house, one of me graduating in the room that she was set up in.
So my turn came, I walked in she was standing in the corner of the bedroom (which was my old room and the ashes of our family pets are in there - don't ask my mum is morbid). She says she can feel spirits all around her in this corner. I just looked at her and sat down. So she then proceeds to tell me all about someone I don't know, so I told her so. She told me to ask my mum about her. She sits down and asks "what's wrong with you?" and I just said "how do you mean" and she goes, you act sick but you're not ill are you? I said "i've actually had a heart transplant" and she then started recommending alternate healers - erm hello 2 mins ago you told me I was fine. She told me I would go to uni one day, I started laughing and said "look around at all these text books, they're mine and that's me graduatin in the corner". She said I've always wanted a pet and never had one, again there was a photo of me with the dogs on the wall. I'd have 3 children (obviously doesn't understand the implications of anti-rejection drugs).
I could go on but basically despite the fact that our families incredibly rare surname is on a mining memorial less than 2 minutes walk from our old mining house in a mining village she never managed to work out any connection to said mines.
She never worked out any of our overseas connections, didn't get the jewish history even though the house is set out quite traditionally (and we have a kosher kitchen, no idea why as no one practices any more), didn't work out that most of the people she read were related so we all got different backgrounds to ask our mum about and the only thing she got right was that one person would have a girl and it would cause jealousy with her boys.0 -

Not really - my best friend's mum is the president of a spiritualist church and she is one of the most deceitful, manipulative, dishonest women I have ever met. Coincidentally, she was caught twice by the social claiming benefits despite having between 5 and 10 people a day round for readings and chakra cleansing at £30 a go. She didn't see that coming :rotfl: Sorry, I couldn't resist.0 -

six months ago. Yes, he was a lovely man, very tall and protective of her...'
And if anybody doesn't like the dumpy housewife description, there is always the subset of expensively suited, slightly camp men simpering away.
Well I don't know where you get your example from - seems an unlikely scenario.
If you ring a medium to arrange a reading - there don't ask your name, or maybe just your first, wouldn't do much good anyway, any rare 'news' in the local 'Echo' just as likely someone else with the same name! And family notices? Again more likely to find unrelated people - same name.
Moreover, in the 'Church' that I advised, mediums are invited in from 30 -to - 120 miles away.
My last message there wasn't for me but for my partner, the details of which no one else there would know!! Indeed, an unusual name I didn't recognise.
And just in case - neither of us are on facebook!I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -
I like to keep an open mind. By closing your mind to so many things you may miss something totally unrelated.
I feel like this about our local church. I am a little sceptical but always open for discussion and debate. I find people with a faith of some kind have something special, and although I may not believe the same things they do, it must be wonderful to truly believe in something so strongly.Never again will the wolf get so close to my door :eek:0 -
My MIL visits a medium, I never would in a million years.
This medium told MIL that OH's girlfriend at the time would get mugged on a night out in March 2009. One night in March 2009 she lost her phone on a night out, but wasn't mugged. They're insistent the medium was right.
We have a medium night at work a few years ago and the woman actually opened up with "I'm sensing someone here has a silver car" - it would have been more convincing if she had not arrived via the car park! Our Rainbow Twins born 17th April 2016
