Im Thinking Of Seeing A Medium Any Advice Please

I would also suggest, in the kindest way, not to bother. I visited a 'recommended sensitive professional' on the advice of a friend, following a very sudden and shocking bereavement. I'm not sure why I agreed, as I've always been fairly sceptical about such things.
Anyway, as Pollycat mentioned above, I don't fit into the 'norm' either. I come from a mixed race background, and it's not obvious what my heritage is. It became quite amusing as the psychic floundered around, trying to second-guess what my origins were and mentioning 'seeing' something or someone in four or five different countries. She moved swiftly on when I denied having a connection to any of these countries.

Best place to start to see a genuine medium would be to make some enquiries at your local spiritualist church.

Has anyone been to see a medium or psychic? Im not talking about the gypsy rosie lee type, I mean a recommended sensitive professional.

They don't exist, apart from the professional con merchants.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

This ^^ is probably the best advice if you want to see a medium. There is no charge for attending their services, and if you want to and if you feel comfortable doing so, you can then make enquiries with them about seeing a medium.

They are different to the stage-show entertainment artists, where they ask if there's someone in the room who knows a 'John' :rotfl:

Such a question (as soon as I saw I knew what would happen) is guaranteed to have responses from the naysayers.

Any decent medium will NOT ask questions. All you should say, is 'yes'. 'no', or maybe 'don't no'. Moreover there will be times when you won't know the answer, or you may remember it later.

Just like any other activity - some are better than others.

It may well be that you need is as the result of a 'loss' or crisis.
In coming through to you, they are trying via the medium to show you they are okay on the 'other side'. The challenge for the medium is interpreting the 'signs' they are being given in a way that is meaningful to you.

See if there is a Spiritualist Church in your area - the visiting medium (who therefore doesn't know who will be there) will come to maybe six during a service with a message. They may go direct to the person, or indirect and narrow it down to one with further statements. It's not about 'telling your fortune', it's more about demonstrating that there is life after physical death.

My Dad was a medium, so I know there are some genuine ones out there. He never made money out of it. There are fakers of course so personal recommendation is the best way forward.

Surely if you are expected to say 'yes' or 'no', it means you are being asked questions?

Plus all the non verbal responses - pupil dilation, eyebrows moving, head movement, unconscious gestures - clothes, jewellery, the way you move when you walk in, age, skin tone (red hair and freckles and you'll be told about somebody from Scotland or Ireland), short and you'll be told about somebody short or somebody tall...you don't need to say a word to tell a seasoned reader all they need to know.

Don't waste your money, OP. Statistically, you'll get more useful replies from asking on here than from some dumpy divorced ex-housewife wearing a floaty purple top.
