I had never seen a film staring Mr Statham before.

I used to quite enjoy the occasional Steven Seagal movie, Under Siege was quite fun for example. The rest Mr Statham's oeuvre I suspect will remain unseen by me.

If you watch another Statham movie it will feel reassuringly similar :)

Transporter; Safe; Mechanic - similar character in all.

The one I would choose from his repertoire is Crank (and maybe Crank 2). It's basically the same high energy popcorn fodder, but there is an irreverence in the plot line which makes it enjoyable.

I am turning into such a miserable old beggar, I come to see the 'event' being promoted in the shops as entirely a cynical exercise in marketing as opposed to anything of meaning and that becomes a reason in itself not to spend any money to mark the occasion.

And don't get me started on flowers - a way of both causing unnecessary environmental damage and simultaneously extend/worsen the hay fever season.....

Being Mrs michaels is by no means a bed of roses.
    I think....

Also, the Church of England has got into trouble over a call for prayers to be said for Richard Dawkins. Whilst I am sure it was genuinely meant, the irony is delicious.

So dammed if they do, dammed if they don't.

CofE is on a winner. If he recovers their prayers have been answered. If he doesn't recover, well they tried their best, in spite of the fact that he is one of their biggest critics.

I think you did well getting bacon. Life goes better with bacon.

I don't really do Valentines Day. We went to the RSL club and they were giving a rose for each woman and I thought that I can't be outdone by the flipping RSL so on the way home went to the grocers and bought Mrs Generali some very nice orchids. We both love orchids.
I agree. Life without bacon would not be worth living.
We don't do Valentines Day either.

I see the humour in it and it is funny. However I also think that it is very much to the credit of the church that they have said this.

I love receiving flowers, now ex hubby for all his faults was very good at having flowers delivered, a real romantic. Ex loveerrr couldn't see the point in the smushy stuff.

I miss getting my flowers....and I am allergic to the beggers unless they are carnations!

I must admit to feeling left out today, Valentines day used to be such a special day for us as it marked the period of time when we met. He was always very good at making a big romantic show of it and the house would be peaceful and calm for a day which helped to get through the other days when he would be raging like a bull and I was never good enough.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.
