I don't like Quorn and totally avoid it if I can. I prefer the soya mince from Sainsburys. Their veggie range is not bad and reasonably priced.

Thanks Viva and all the other NP. DS was Darling Sister in this instance not DS....

Doc advised me to try gluten free for a bit but I couldn't see a way to do this without either completely changing our diet or quintupling our food spend.
    I think....

I am quite happy adding sauces 'for' one meat to another.

DS who is a veggie has come up with a meal plan but it is very full of cheese (no wonder she isn't a skinny vegetarian), nuts (we keep them out of the house due to DS allergy) and a quorn spag bol which sounds even more tasteless in her recipe than in mine - perhaps if you never have mince you don't realise how bad quorn is....

We are not vegetarian, but we only eat meat once a week. That's usually chicken. The rest of the time we eat veggie or fishy. So, it ought to be easy to give you a whole week's menus, but I'm a bit stumped to say what we do eat, actually.

I would suggest getting in a packet of smoked salmon or smoked trout. Some tinned tuna. Lots of salads. Baked potatoes with a choice of toppings. Humous, falafel, stuffed vine leaves.

But nobody wants to sit down to a meal consisting just of stuffed vine leaves, so you need to mix it up a bit. Like a plate of mixed meze or antipasti.

Edit: One thing we do have is curry, made with quorn pieces, rather than quorn mince. You can buy ready made curry sauces, if time is short.

Ready-made curry sauces - if she is used to those at home she will probably find British ones a bit of a shock. According to my brother who lives there atm, the German ones he's come across have all been sweet and very bland.

    Let them not eat cake!
I'd have gone down the route of living on simple foods that avoided it.

I think the fence is waving me goodbye.... it's managing 30 degree leans now .... every 30 seconds or so!

I've been to the neighbour and dropped a note about it, to let them know I'm not just ignoring it .... I'm watching it too :)

Your insurance is unlikely to pay for a new fence, but it should pay for any damage the bits of fence do to your neighbours.

Well, I'd only be liable if I could be proven to be negligible. Having contacted firms for quotes is an indication I'm not entirely negligible ... and now, having informed them to move it .... I'd hope to not be in that position.

I wouldn't bank on that. The fact you have asked for quotes is an indication that you knew the fence was in need of repair. It could then be argued that it should have been repaired urgently, as the storms at this time of year can hardly have come as a surprise.

Best to keep quiet if something goes wrong and leave it to your insurers to sort out.

It's just started here. Heavy, heavy rain, in gusts.

Slamming against my bedroom window - so from the west.
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I was trying to do it urgently! But if nobody's quoting, there's !!!! all you can do

The fence was stable/strong, not rotting/rotten at all prior to this. It's just been the wind....and heck we've had some wind!

This is the windiest place I've ever known, ever....and I've lived in windy places before!

    It seems never-ending!

When I was outside getting drenched, there's a very tall streetlight - and the rain was gusting in sheets!

I popped upstairs 10 minutes ago and could see 3-4 gardens along in the next road, where there were 30-40' trees bending almost flat in the wind!

The thing is that it doesn't matter whether you were negligent or not. You don't have to worry about it. That's the insurance company's job. Let them do the worrying for you.
