Re veggie recipes: my DD is a veggie and does not eat fish (is fairly rude about vegetarians who eat fish!)
When I make my usual curry, which involves chicken and potatoes, I make it as usual up to when I put the chicken in and then separate and do hers in a separate pan with quorn instead of chicken.
I find quorn in general needs a lot of extra liquid and spices.
We eat risotto sometimes and DD showed me her version, which is made with leek and halloumi. Can either cook halloumi separately and then add in or just bung it in earlier. Halloumi is quite "meaty" tasting, taste has some similarities with bacon.0 -

We just have the back 2 seats permanently down! :rotfl: Means we can just put the folded wheelchair in without having to do things like taking the wheels off... Really reaching the point in time when I could do with getting a better wheelchair. It really kills me spending time in it, half an hour even and I can barely stand up from it. Anyway, back to cars - we have so much carp to haul to and from caravan that the 5 seaters are a bit small for us! OH's new car (the Hyundai x35) is only 5 seater, we haven't even tried the wheelchair in the boot yet as it's always raining!
But we really need to do that. Might use it for short trip to caravan to see how we go with smaller car... If we're only going for a week I'll only need about 3 suitcases full of clothes, and 2 bags of electronics. :rotfl: Food we can get when we arrive!
Can you keep the current car?No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

While I paid an arm and a leg on up front payment I don't think we want to keep the Renault. Our local garage aren't nice or helpful when you have problems. Car nearly 5 years old - we were able to extend the Motability lease as had low mileage. Lease finishes in October. Ideally I'd prefer to get another Motability car, it really is a fantastic scheme. But it's all going to depend on how I do on the PIP assessment when it happens. At least our kind next door neighbour comes in when we're away to see if there's a Brown Envelope, if there is she'll phone us.0 -

They aren't vegetarians! It annoys me too. Nothing wrong with being a pescetarian, they just need to use the right label.
Being a veggie, my repertoire consists of:
Pasta, normally with a tomato based sauce. My favourite is an arrabiata which I make with vodka, gives a fantastic kick, but not sure that's right for German schoolkids.
Chilli sin carne... this and the above are my midweek go to recipes as so easy.
Veg pie, with veggies or salad.
Veggie stir fry. I like to add chopped apple and cashew nuts to mine.
Risotto
Veg pizza and salad
Veg quiche/tart and salad or veg
Ratatouille
Indian/Chinese/Thai takeaway (I'm not good enough to cook these myself). Beware fish sauce in the Thai (mine take it out for me). Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? V understandable in a second language. I once messed up in France and called myself a vegetable instead of a vegetarian. DH still doesn't let me forget this and it must have been 20 years ago. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I'd recommend a Ford S-Max.
First one I racked up to 174k miles in 4 years (bought at 9k and 3 months old)
Second one was bought new, and ran to 106k in 14 months (A lot of driving to/from Eastern Europe as part of a major expansion drive, rather than London daily with the occasional European trip in the old one). Neither suffered any reliability problems.
First was 2.0 diesel with a manual gearbox, second was a 2.2 diesel with automatic, if that makes any difference to you. Addison Lee use the 2.0 diesel with automatic in the Galaxy, and they're able to cope with 100k+ minicab miles, so there shouldn't be any reliability problems there, too.
It may be slightly larger than the Scenic, but as I haven't had both (and Renault's UK fleet manager/dealership manager are banned from our office), I'm not 100% sure.💙💛 💔0 -
