We bought that oven/cooker for our old house, have seen it as cheap as 400 so lots of bankg for your buck if doing a refurb. Seems to be a good profit in what they have done but no doubt the market has moved in their favour.I think....0

I've decided I want an oven like that. Whether I actually get one or not is another thing but I'd really quite like one
And I don't watch Bake Off.
Then and again I'm still coping with my mini oven!0 -
PasturesNew wrote: »What I'm washing isn't clothes/hanger stuff as such. I've two batches, one lot I took today, the next batch goes when this lot's dry. This batch is:
Underwear/socks
3x big leggings
6x huge T shirts worn as PJ tops
4x smaller T shirts worn as PJ tops
2 bath sheets
2 pairs of jeans
1 plastic kagoul
The next batch is:
A blanket you pull over yourself on the sofa
A furry throw
2 bath sheets
3 pillow cases
1 duvet cover
1 double sheet
sleeping bag
So not stuff that hangs on those type of airers.
I'd put loads of that on that type of drier! Leggings, jeans, t shirts; pillow cases and bath sheets (using the clip top trouser hangers), all dry brilliantly. I have to admit though that I use my downstairs cupboard door for duvet covers and my upstairs banister for throws and duvets... more conventional airer for undies. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Windy here.
Thinking of PN and her house in its uber-windy location and wondering if it's howling round her house the way it is round mine this evening.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
We've gone from a beautiful morning to PN-style fire and brimstone storms in a matter of moments. The air con was on at 10am but was off by lunchtime!0

For whatever reason, I read your post as being from Nikkster. No matter how abnormal your weather seems, now I know it is about Australia and not an adjacent country to Inner Herts it seems somehow normal. Australia has some bonkers weather. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? The sun's back out now, it's a glorious evening, 26C and sunny. I'm sitting on the back porch with a cold beer. The Generalissimos are splashing about in the pool with ol' Ma Generali's beau.
My thoughts are turning to Easter. I might take the Generalissimos camping somewhere. Jervis Bay again maybe. That was a lovely spot. Or perhaps I could take them up to Hat Head. That place is beautiful. I'll work something out. Ideally I'd go no more than 5 hours drive so realistically that means 450km is my radius. Plenty of places that close.0 -

It took a lot of getting used to.0 -

Glad the weather's cleared up Gen.
Are you looking for somewhere coastal? You have some lovely choices on the coast, oh inland too, I'm jealous. I've never been to Canberra, so that would make my wish list. I like the Blue Mountains too.
If you ever decide to fly instead, Hervey Bay and the area round Noussa are beautiful (sorry if you know that already) and the kids would probably enjoy Australia Zoo. Fraser Island has to be seen to be believed. Plus you could wave to the rels for me;)
ETA... I have always wanted to go to Broome too, but that just seems to far away, even when you're actually in Australia. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I did wonder that too. Glad you are ok with it now. It probably means a huge amount to your mum.
Not sure how I would be, but I wouldn't want my parents to be lonely (mine are both still alive so hard to know). I'd probably be like a fierce dad in terms of wanting to check them out and making sure they are good enough though:o.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
