I was wondering that the other day... she'd not been online for a while. Hopefully because she's too busy having fun somewhere.

    We were :)

Tense times in that penalty shoot out, but our record continues.

Liverpool haven't lost when we have been.

I wonder if West Ham will spoil that record on Saturday.

I was asleep by then - but OH told me about it this morning.

We're not particularly close to Anfield, but if you're visiting in future and have time for a cuppa or a pint en route we'd love to see you. Then you can tell the rest of the Nice People what weirdos OH and I are! :rotfl:

Thank you, and you're always welcome here (goes to all NPs but Generali has to fund his own bus ticket!).

I know theres is supposed to be this Manc-Scouse division, but I do enjoy it over in Liverpool. I enjoy the running races there and the footie. You can have a conversation with anyone. By contrast, I used to walk everywhere when I worked in Enfield and nobody used to speak.

The Liverpool crowd are all knowledgeable and I would say good natured. DS thought the Stoke City fans were very "chippy" - I think he was rather polite considering..

It's been peeing down here all day. Cold, grey, wet, miserable, never-ending rain, rain, rain.

Well it's been rather like that today here too, which is why it was so nice to see the red sunset... Red sky at night, shepherd's delight. So hope we'll have better weather tomorrow! ;)

Glorious pic! Thanks for sharing that. :)
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

What a beautiful sunset photo Maggie :T

We've been busy trying to choose a new Motability car as OH has to order it next month. Of the ones we've had a test drive in, looks as if it's a toss-up between the Citroen C4 Picasso and the Ford C-Max. We really liked the Skoda Yeti too (I think CK has one), but the Citroen and the Ford are easier for me to get into.

I'm used to having to sit in the back on test drives, but the lady at the Citroen place today let us go off on our own, so we went to Blackheath to get a particular shampoo I can't buy anywhere nearer, and managed to squeeze into a rather small parking space with the aid of the rear-view camera :j

ETA It cost 50p to park for 15 minutes!

I found the Liverpool fans delightful at The Lane (not being sarcastic). It's just as well given how many had bought tickets for the home end!

I saw them a few years back. It ended 1-1.

Old Ma Generali has come to visit from the Mother Country.:j

My favourite though is to go to the botanical gardens and lie under the big fig tree that's about 500m from the road on a gentle slope and kip while listening to a podcast.

    How wonderful. :D

Would a small tripod work, Maggie? I've got an ancient one from my Dad, but it seems to do the trick as long as you can balance it on a sufficiently wide base.
