If LydiaJ is looking in, Martin wants views on bereavement benefits:

Thanks silvercar.
I've replied to the thread, but too late for my response to be included in what'll be sent to MPs. I didn't know it was there. Why do they only give 4 days for people to respond????Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
With a movie running on Netflix....
Normally get 70+ if I'm just web browsing so definitely slow tonight.

Our internet is shocking. It is free though and I really just wanted something to operate reliably with my Sonos.
My phone does everything quickly and everyone else in the house has a phone. We did fine for over a year with no home internet.
When the openreach man came to fix it (it wasn't working when they turned it on), he spent nearly the entire day on my line. The only bit of cable he didn't replace was the short run from the box in the street to our telegraph pole.
He replaced loads at the exchange in town but the wire runs through big oak trees from the telegraph pole to our house and the squirrels had eaten it!
Not at home to test, but it's not good enough to stream. Could switch to fibre, but I'm being tight.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

On the internet download speed front, I rarely care much nowadays as long as it's reliable.
I have a few virtual PCs and a couple of servers on both Amazon and Microsoft cloud. As long as they talk to each other quick enough, that's all that matters to me.
It seems weird that I rely on physical machines somewhere, but haven't really got a clue as to where they are.0 -
We have a PVR, which is a video recorder with a hard disc inside. It enables us to record stuff, then play it back without the adverts. That seems a big plus compared to 4OD and the like.
If anyone wants details, I am happy to 'bore for England' on the subject. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

I wonder if it is confused because both Aberdeen and Sheffield have a River Don, other than that I have no idea. I hope you are ok with the former H.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Yep we're absolutely fine but thanks for asking. Our house is on a hill about 100m above sea level, half a mile from the closest river, and well above it's flood plain anyway.
No extra water in my single malt this weekend. :money:

Seems a bit better today.
Or maybe the test server in Nottingham works faster than the test server in Sheffield.:)“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
