Can you get Naproxen OTC in the UK? It's brilliant for back pain. I have some pretty severe back problems and 500mg once a day keeps me on my feet. It does take a few days for them to kick in but you can take them with codine and paracetamol if needs be.
Sorry to hear that your back hurts, it's horrible.
It has come to my attention today that I love my life. My job is enjoyable, flexible and fulfilling, I've got a lovely wife and two great kids and I've got a shoulder of pork i the oven.
It doesn't get much better than this, even if my back does hurt. 2016 is a great place to live and I am determined that it's going to be the best year yet.0 -
That's so great, Gen, and lovely to hear!
I'm grateful to be in a similar position, without the pork or wife
I had some naproxen but threw it out. Probably for the best as I can't remember what it was initially for! Prescription only. I may have to call the doc to ask for decent pain relief until I can get fixed.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Once you've bought/eaten a few nice things you'd then think "Hang on, that's a bit of a waste". Indeed, "just" £10k might then become a nuisance as you wracked your brains for "something meaningful to do with it, so I don't just waste it all then regret it". It's big enough to be exciting, but then comes the responsibility to get it right as it's one shot ....
Well it would change some things, I could pay someone to decorate the kitchen and front room for a start (and not have to use the cheapest materials), get new carpets, a new bed, new tumble dryer...it would ease things for a wee while and allow some head space to use my brain for something else.
It's not a life changing amount by any scope of the imagination but it would make things a hell of a lot nicer to look at for the next decade. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Problem is I am a saver not a spender so never have cash flow issues so 10k immediately translates into 4.80 a week for the next 40 years which really isn't enough to get my pulse racing.Michaels: am I right in thinking you have experience with Now TV boxes?? (Question open to all though)
Can the aforementioned Now TV boxes be used to watch the catch up services e.g. iPlayer, and what I always want to call 4player (4OD) without subscribing to anything? I suggested it for my mum, but she's returned it to the shop as she didn't want to subscribe...
Yes you can and a few other bits and pieces too. You should be able to get a white 'low res' box for about £10 or the new black box for £20. It uses data though so you need unmetered internet and a connection of hopefully at least 4Mbps. Almost certainly if you never subscribe Mr Murdoch will be making a loss on the deal too.
Gen I admire your attitude. It looks like we are finally going to see some winter here so perhaps your summer will get its act together too.I think....0 -

Thank you. I already decided that 2016 is going to be an amazing year, all I have to do now is make it happen.
The sun has reappeared here which is great. 27C and not a cloud in the sky. It's meant to get progressively hotter until Tuesday when it's apparently going to be 38C (~100F).
Summer has been weird here. It's an el Nino year which should mean scorching hot and dry but it has been neither.0 -

I'd be tempted to buy one and leave it in the box. I don't suppose the loss would add up to a life changing sum for Mr M?Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Don't know what your budget is, but we bought a Sony blue-ray player that gives all the iplayer/ 4OD etcI'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I got 11Mbps and 0.74Mbps respectively but we are watching Netflix while I did it which presumably makes a difference.0
