Exactly, it doesn't influence you chance of winning, just that you would be sharing the bounty with less people, or fewer people depending on the numbers.;)
Friends won the premium bonds years ago. 50k. They moved house and their life remained the same. Next door won about 100k on the lottery (5 + bonus in the early days), they bought 2 new cars and moved house. Local restaurant owners won many years ago. They shut up shop and travelled for a few months, then came home and carried on life as normal.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. With the increase in numbers the chances of sharing your jackpot with others also increase (unless there are a lot more players, which there aren't).
On the lottery subject, can anyone explain the ad campaign to me?
It seems by my purchasing of a ticket(s) I am some how able to stop celebrity rascals like Katie Price and Piers Morgan winning.
I don't quite get the logic of this. Wouldn't I be better off locking Katie Price away somewhere to deny her winning the lottery?
Arguably, the locking away strategy is more effective than my buying many millions more tickets a week than Katie does, so that even if she does win I have a high chance of diluting her prize.

Not too shabby was it.
Also, re sharing the prize depending upon the popularity of numbers:
"The most lottery winners for a single jackpot was 133 in January 1995, each winning £122,510." Bummer!
From £16million you'd expect more than £122k. You'd be thinking "Maybe it's just me.... OK, might have to share it with 2-3 others ... at most. That's still £4mill". £122k would, by the end of the weekend, feel like you really LOST rather than WON.
Thus some could be jackpot winners and still not pay off their mortgages.
Fir and I play the ' what sum would change our lives' and in what way. It changes. Being mortgage free would be great of course. Being mortgage free house finished, great. Still need to work etc. Enough to live on for life? Sure, nice....but how does it actually make a difference and impact well into the world around us?

Didn't someone kill themselves after that week when 133 people won as they thought they'd won £15 million quid and couldn't cope with finding out it was only a hundred grand? I'm sure I remember something like that but the first page of Google shows nothing.0 -

That's hard and depressing to believe.
They lost nothing. They were actually a hundred thousand plus better off.0 -

I find when they are promoting those TV 'life changing' quizzes where you can win 10k I am thinking if we got 10k it would make no difference to anything and really wouldn't notice.I think....0
