It seems to be hurting him.

I preferred the simple initials. The artist has done a great job of interpreting a very, very strange request.

His fiancee is there. I wouldn't be looking at it in daylight!

I had missed the start of the new job. What is it?

I may not have mentioned... same place but different role, a bit higher up. Trying to get my feet somewhere near to the table at the moment. Under it will take a few more weeks.

My mum always used to say that if they move your desk close to the door you're on your way out.

I've actually moved closer to the window. Hopefully I'm not on my way out of that! Ouch!

It's nine months today since my lovely MIL died. Had a really nice chat with DH remembering her. She was fab.

    Avoided the X Factor.

I'm watching Tattoo Fixers. I think I've said before, but it's brilliant. I have no tattoos.

    Are you my mother? :eek::eek:

Dinner tonight was a complete disaster. Got everything ready, but had no eggs in the fridge. Went to the corner shop, threw a rotten egg into a pan, then argued about a refund when I went back (wasn't too happy with an exchange with the same dates)

Debating whether to speak with the owner (who I know) in the morning about it or not. Downstairs still stinks :(

We were out today. It was warm, incredibly warm for the time of year, but also incredibly grey and bleak. I'm sorry to be such a moaner, but the weather is depressing.

I've literally left the house to put some rubbish out, and twice for the abovementioned incident.

On a general level, I find that it's been mild surprising. I don't smoke in the house and can't smoke in the office, and have found it really cold when I've popped outside.

Might just be me, though :)

Congratulations. Were you seeking more responsibility or was greatness thrust upon you?

[QUOTE=vivatifosi;69716689, when you realise the O word means you it is quite shocking, and makes you feel empty.

I feel dreadful for him as both of my parents have been ill but lived, whereas both of his died both young and relatively quickly. It is going to be a very strange Christmas.

I think it will.be important for us to establish a new routine.[/QUOTE]

My dad died suddenly at 55, OH's mum died relatively quickly from Breast Cancer at 56, Our remaining parents lived until their eighties then died suddenly.OH and I are both grateful that the older folk lived active lives, no dementia, independent in their own homes.

We have a photo of my f-i-l on our fridge. It was taken three months before he died. It is of him on holiday in italy, riding a bike.

It would be lovely to have them still. But not at the price of them
becoming infirm, suffering or lost to dementia, and there are no gaurantees they would have remained well and enjoying life.

OH was 46 when his dad died. A couple if years later in response to something I had asked to be done, Oh gave a list of reasons why he should not do it finishing with " and I is an orphan".

We both still use the same phrase to worm our way out of chores. (the word is not associated with pain of our own parental loss for us. A couple of friends died in a road accident in 1992 leaving their four year old daughter, that defined forever our word association and sadness.)

I have upped the stakes recently to dodge household tasks
"I is disabled, and I'm an orphan".

It lightens the mood around two unpleasant facts

Mr T has upped his efforts .... my last three "£6 off £40" vouchers went unused, so this morning a new set's arrived, this time £8 off £40".

The trouble with Mr T is that even if I compile a list of my favourite stuff (e.g. my drinks) and make a trip there to spend £40 on my favourite drinks (when they're half price) .... then it doesn't mean the shelves will have any on when I get there :)

If you do Click and Collect .... and they've not got enough stock in, what happens?

    e.g. my order would be simply: 20x "8x330 ml cans" at £2/8-pack = £40.

If they've only got, say, 18, then it's no longer £40 (less £8 = £32) .... if one could top up the order to take it, again, over the £40, then I could find a few things to add (say if they only had 16 packs) .... but it all seems a bit hit and miss.

EDIT: Just going through my bag and I also got a Mr S till spit for £16 off £60 .... so the question also applies there.

Or ... am I simply just better off forgetting all this and buying my drinks at 29p/can at Lidl, carrying them home 4 at a time and thereby drinking just 1/day as I've only got 4 rather than escalating to 6/day because they're there? :)

Or just following my approach of buyng something non-perisable and returning it a week later when you go in to use the next voucher.....

People also sell those vouchers on eBay.
    I think....
