Welcome back Spirit! Hope your holiday went well?
ETA the slippers I mean, not the car, though some may disagree that the slippers are cuter.0 -

It's good/best to have fun slippers.
Slippers are on my "to get" list.

We've had some pretty tasty storms in Sydney you've done well to avoid. In fact the weather has been what we economists call "crap" (sorry for the jargon).
We spent most of our holiday in Sicily but stayed in 2 different places.
We had a couple of days of forecast storms around Etna and on one day in the south got caught in a flash flood. If I could post videos I would as it was pretty scary although OH videod it. The water was above the crash barrier and we watched tyres float by whilst rocks carried down off the hill were dumped on the road in front of us were fortunate to get stranded on a slight "island" at the edge of the road.
We could not move as we were ar a small crossroads and the flow of water in front cossways was too strong. After about 2 hours the flooding subsided almost as quickly as it came and we were able to move off, although as we got near to our hotel a car was stuck so OH took his shoes off and went to assist and find a way through.
Otherwise glorious weather0 -
So washing machine installed. A+++++++++++ rating only possible because the programme that is used to calculate the rating is 3 hours long!
...
You do know that the "A" is an Anarchy rating right?
See this for proof ...

Looking at the BMW 5 parked next to the Juke, the BMW is longer but the Juke is higher.
Advantage of the Hyundai is 7 year warranty.
Hyundais don't feel cramped inside despite their shortness and small footprint. The height compensates for the shortness somehow. The clever bit is how that doesn't make it unstable when cornering. Quite well put together. Not exactly gas-guzzlers either. OK it doesn't have solid moonrock gearsticks or panda fur seatcovers or whatever nonsensical fripperies posh cars have but they're clever, compact convenient and easy on the pocket.
Until a few months ago I'd never really noticed or heard of them much despite spending far too much time on a website dedicated to getting value for the bare minimum money. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
Just spent 40 minutes on the phone to someone that's had their housing benefit stopped, so I think a considerable part of Monday is going to be used sorting an appeal.
There are (IMO) genuine reasons for claimant not being able to provide the documents requested (such as a company going into administration), and IMO the council are going to have to wait until this has been sorted out (although should be pretty swift)
I do notice that they've not included details regarding right to appeal in the letter given, which could put them in breach of an ECHR ruling, but that's another story.......💙💛 💔0 -
You probably all know this, but still ....
What item :-
- costs 22p each to import (made in China)
- sells for a retail £4.20 each
- makes an easy £2+ profit per item
- sold thousands recently
- makes a confused statement
?
I have no idea.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Despicable Me slippers?
Fox-scent impregnated dog collars?
Incomplete stamps for letters we don't really want to reach their destination?
Blank greeting cards we need to add our own pictures, messages? :eek:There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

I have driven Hyundais a few times as hire cars. They are pretty comfortable, but I have been a bit frustrated by:
The keyless entry (I do like conventional keys).
The fact that the steering wheel stalk configuration is different to mine.
It took me a while to work out how to open the filler cap.
I think some models don't have intermittent wiper options.
All things you can get used to, but for a couple of weeks it's frustrating... for example I was driving on a freeway and it got dark pretty quickly and I had trouble working out where the lights were.
I tend to go for Nissans or Toyotas as my hire car of choice but they go quickly.
I really don't like American cars with their six million cup holders. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
