In the business news today... Poundland is merging with the 99p store.
I wonder what they are going to do now that 1/2p pieces have been discontinued. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Apparently the question staff are asked most often in poundland is 'How much is this?'

You would be surprised how many people come into where I work, which states "Library" clearly above the door and have the following conversation...
Have you got a copy of (insert name of book here)?
Yes certainly
How much is it?
Ummmm... we don't sell books, we're a library.
So you're not a bookshop then?

Fabulous day today. Wasn't in the office, was out pretending to be a proper scientist. Needed that after this week (not been a great one at work), and next week looks like being more politics than science. Meh. I managed to pick up the courage to chat to a couple of people about science stuff. Which is quite something for me.
Was driving past Ikea on the way home so popped in as it's been a while. Treated myself to a hot dog rather than meatballs. Picked up some bits from the food area, including some interesting looking schnapps... and got I'D :j As I was walking away the chap who served me told me to keep doing whatever I'm doing
Which I think is mainly having spots and being too lazy to wear make up. But still... smiled all the way home0 -
I'm also going to be counting votes in a few weeks. Should make for an interesting evening!0

How do you get to do that?Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

I emailed our local electoral services department (I've canvassed for the electoral register and sat in a polling station previously).
Or council has also been advertising in the paper though. We are going to have a LOT of ballot papers as there are a lot of votes happening here that day.0 -

My first job was in Blockbuster Video. A customer once told me they were jealous of me as they 'always wanted to work in the movie business'.
If £3 an hour and as many maltesers as you can eat/steal is the movie business, knock yourself out.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
