    hello all.

sorry I've not been around. Afraid I've no good news to post, and there hasn't been anything good happen. That's the reason for the absence.

Not sure what else to say tbh.

Welcome back. I've missed you. I don't think I'm the only one. Please hang around, if you can manage to.

I'd just like to apologize and delete 19,900 of my last 20,000 posts, I hadn't realised we were only supposed to post here when good things happened.

Lovely to see you again Jelly.

    What michaels said.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

To add to the above, this isn't Facebook, we aren't trying to impress ex girl/boy friends or outdo others at the school gate.

We are just a bunch of people being nice and supportive.

Hey lemonjelly surely the start to the season hasn't knocked you so far off course.

You sound a little down. Generally speaking, or should that be Generali speaking, we are here for each other. If you want some support then I will gladly chirrup in your ear at night and there will be others as I sleep.

    What's up old friend?

    What Gen said, too.

You know that old saying - if you can't say anything nice, best say nothing at all?

Things are not good in jellyland Gen. Might try posting details elsewhere...

Felt a bit guilty about not being about. Thought I ought let you all know.

Don't feel guilty. I've done some disappearing this summer too. Just exhausted, really, and got out of the habit. Have been made v welcome when I reappeared. The NP really are very nice people!

So annoyed, a rep from a double glazing company came to the door and gave DH a leaflet and was talking about our front windows, and DH cheerfully gave him his contact details and the chap said they'd "pop back"

We do need new windows, admittedly, but can't possibly afford them atm, and in any case we don't buy goods and services at the door these days (not since the time DH inexplicably engaged a random person to do some tree surgery and he made a mess of it and didn't take the debris away, surprise surprise) and I don't know why on earth DH didn't just tell them so! :(

lemonjelly, Really nice to "see" you. Sorry things have been rough.

I'm still recovering from some private dental surgery. I think I nodded when the dentist explained the whole process, but the realities are only now sinking in.

    Has anyone else had implants?

I think the shorthand way of describing private dentistry is where you hand over your wallet/purse, and in return they punch you in the face really hard ;)

Tonight's healthy/balanced evening meal is: a packet of crisps and a mini cheesecake :)

Does balanced in this context mean you hold an item in each hand, and if they seem to weigh about the same it's "balanced"? :D

    I'm a terrible food shopper.

If I go when I'm hungry I will just pick up the stuff which looks appealing and likely to satisfy the immediate need.

If I'm not hungry I wander around disinterested.

Congratulations to Spirit and Mr Spirit on your anniversary

Nice to see you LJ, sorry things haven't been easy :(

The chap on WDYTYA last night, Frank Gardner, used to be a war zone reporter for the BBC. He was doing a report when his cameraman was killed and he was seriously injured by gunfire.

He's now UK-based but does reports on security issues such as terrorism etc. I found the first half of the programme immensely moving, and the second half very interesting.

Now waiting for Strictly to start in a couple of minutes :j

Pastures, most people who want an extension engage an architect. That is because they have exactly the same difficulties as you have.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
