    hello all.

sorry I've not been around. Afraid I've no good news to post, and there hasn't been anything good happen. That's the reason for the absence.

Not sure what else to say tbh.

I was wondering. Last we heard was graffitigate.... I'd checked your profile since to see if you'd abandoned the whole forum, or just us :)

I'd just like to apologize and delete 19,900 of my last 20,000 posts, I hadn't realised we were only supposed to post here when good things happened.

Lovely to see you again Jelly.
    I think....

Hey lemonjelly surely the start to the season hasn't knocked you so far off course.

You sound a little down. Generally speaking, or should that be Generali speaking, we are here for each other. If you want some support then I will gladly chirrup in your ear at night and there will be others as I sleep.

    What's up old friend?

To add to the above, this isn't Facebook, we aren't trying to impress ex girl/boy friends or outdo others at the school gate.

We are just a bunch of people being nice and supportive.

You know that old saying - if you can't say anything nice, best say nothing at all?

Things are not good in jellyland Gen. Might try posting details elsewhere...

Felt a bit guilty about not being about. Thought I ought let you all know.
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

I've lost my link to the other place (again) and LIR who normally resupplies has beggured off sadly. <<gutted smilie>>

Happy to chat via PM but I have had a rather fulsome night.

I drop in and out of the thread. Others read every word. Different strokes for different folks.

If people have nothing better to do, visit my post about extensions on the DIY board. :)

    You're good on computers PN.

Why don't you try using something like SweetHome3D or your preferred CAD package?

I did this for our extension. The kitchen is something like 3.5m by 8m, and I drew out and itemised every cupboard, every worktop etc.

I believe that it kept the cost down because I had done much of the planning. (Of course I blew much of this saving on a misplaced obsession with LED lighting!)

All it will cost you is time and a bit of trial and error.

This is a phrase that annoys me.

It's like saying I could run in the Olympics marathon because I'm good at walking as you have heard me say I parked at Lidl and you know I'd have had to have walked across the car park.

I was a project manager - we sit on our 4rses, staring out of the window, pondering who to get to do the work. :)

Because I SUCK at all graphics. Seriously. I couldn't make a button image.

I have never seen/used any CAD package.... and my PC isn't up to the job. The CPU is screaming right now, just being here!

I hate graphics too. All of my websites were about data and information with zero attention to images.

You could use paper or etch-a-sketch even. The tool is secondary :)

Going into the design process in detail makes you think about the details. If you don't consider them there is always the risk that a builder will make default decisions on your behalf.

I saw your extension post. I personally dont much care for conservatories - they seem to have 2 heating settings : too hot or too cold.

I'd always go for fixed pitch roof with velux style roof windows to bring in light.

Thing is, if you ask 5 different people you get 5 different answers!

    Your money... :)
