9lbs! Cripes. Congratulations to you both Percy1983.
Interesting times in Australia. The ruling Liberal Party announced a leadership election at 9pm. By 10pm we had a new PM and Deputy. None of this rubbish of weeks of speculation and in-fighting.
Julie Bishop is deputy who I think is particularly good and I sincerely hope will become Australia's second woman PM sooner than later. Malcolm Turnbull is PM which is an arrangement that I suspect won't last long. Hopefully he'll survive long enough to see off Bill Shorten, Labor (sic) leader.0 -
Congratulations Percy.Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0

Whilst it doesn't feel very democratic, I will say you Aussies know how to get things done - getting rid of a sitting prime minister here sems to require months of shadow boxing, phoney campaigns, stalking horses etc...or a general election; not a 'I think I've got more mates than you today so how about it?'I think....0 -

To be fair, Abbott was an utterly crap PM, truly awful.
He got the knife in the back and deserved if. He was a very good opposition leader but a horrible PM.
Aussie politics are interesting.0 -

That's brilliant kab :rotfl:
Many congratulations Percy and Mrs Percy  (or Percy and Percy's OH, whichever applies)
I keep typing letters in the wrong order today, but at least it has reminded me to tell you that we saw 2 signs at roadworks this morning stating PEDESTRAIN CROSSING.
I bet the person who prepared the signs was fed up when they realised. If indeed they did realise.
I now keep visualising a locomotive with lots of feet, rather like Terry Pratchett's Luggage.0 -
