This has to win 'most surreal post on MSE'. I cannot compute it. Why together, on the DIY board?

I remember my mother coming into my room one winter morning after she'd left washing on the line overnight. She was holding up one of my (Courtelle, "fully-fashioned") jumpers by the cuff and it was frozen stiff, and she couldn't stop giggling

That's really annoying PN
I don't know a thing about planning but I bet other folk on here will know whether what you mention would be allowed.
(Not your extension, I don't mean. I mean whether what's been applied for would be allowed, because of the height difference.)
Please let me know if you want me to delete this post and I'll happily do so :-) .0 -
You want to check restriction on the hours they can work. Also the mess they create, round here a big build would require an agreement of which roads to use for access (eg only turning left from main road into site) and a requirement to hose wheels on leaving site. Also they usually require the site boundary to be boarded.
I would be concerned about parking (both lorries and vans on site and residents in the future.)I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. There is some 'right to light' but only for proper 'rooms' not windows on stairs, bathrooms etc and the actual amount required is fairly low (but very complicated to do with the amount of sky falling on a level plain 1m of the floor....
You may want to consider whether the changes might impact on whether you might get planning permission if you did want to make your maximum extension and possibly get the planning request in now plus discuss with the developer whether their might be a little quid pro quo over you not objecting if they don't. Not sure if you could also hit them up for a small goodwill payment against the disruption you are bound to suffer in return for not objecting....
Let me know if you want any of the above deleted.I think....0 -
