Bleugh - in a 'so much to do don't even know where to start' mood.
Half the house looks like we have been burgled by people in a big hurry.
Can't even just sit and procrastinate as we need some food and stores shut at 4I think....0 -
You need "the book", michaels.

Motivation for me, read nearly all of it in a morning!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Motivation for me, read nearly all of it in a morning! What's amazed me is that the areas I've decluttered and tided since reading it have stayed uncluttered and tidy! Such a thing has never been known before. Not in this house at any rate.

Brilliant idea - reading a book much better than doing somethingI think....0 -
There is that, but I almost guarantee a quicker result!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

It's a bit like the way watching Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners (my guilty pleasure
) always galvanises me into going and cleaning something
My OH's guilty pleasure is Tattoo Fixers :rotfl:0 -
I like Tattoo Fixers. I don't have a tattoo, nor am I likely to.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

When DD2 was 18 she had a daisy tattooed on her tummy. She loves daisies. She was afraid to tell me for weeks
I warned her she'd regret it when she was pregnant. Thankfully it went back to a normal daisy shape afterwards though.
The primary schools here have gone back today. A new one for DGS, but it turned out that a nice boy he already knew from football practice is going to be in his class, so he should be fine.
DGD in the meantime told me that her new teacher, who the class met last term, is "Lovely - and someone who's been in her class told me she has sweets in her cupboard!"
michaels I hope your DD1 likes her new school.
Seems odd on here with neither lir nor Lydia0 -

I'd forgotten that about Britain. It's like some weird monk is in charge of the retail sector. The biggest/second biggest shopping day and shops can open for 6 hours.
When the house is a complete tip I start in a corner and work out. If it belongs in that room put it away and if it doesn't chuck it into the next room. Accompany with a decent range of podcasts and a cuppa or two. The kids get to help or play in the street.0 -

I am very ambivalent - part of me likes shorter opening hours on Sunday as it does give the day a more laid back vibe and forces you to some extent to stop and have some recharge time before the new week..but the rest of me finds it a pain in the backside.
Tidying when there is somewhere with space to 'put away' into is easy, when you live in a household of hoarders all you really do is move around the piles of clutter.
I think I am going to have to bite the bullet and throw away a lot of IT stuff that still works but only on windows XP which I have been keeping because when I first kept it it was probably worth 50-100 quid per system on eBay, total probably 3-400 quid or could be used as a TV box for streaming etc but has now depreciated to the point where not even freecycle would want it and you can make a TV smart with a 10 quid nowtv box....I think....0
