Welcome back Lydia, lovely to see you around these parts. We've thought about you loads, so sorry to hear it has been tough.

My sense is that it has been a tough few months across the board, so please stick around if you feel the NPT collective can help.

My thoughts also go out to the NPs who have spoken about their own concerns in the last few days.

That's good news, Lydia. Just seeing a dot of light at the end of the tunnel is a good thing.

    Love to you xx

PN Oh dear, I hope the birds quickly decide your gutters are not the place to be! We had a blocked gutter cleared recently but the pigeons which had used it as a bird bath are still there, stomping noisily and pecking hopefully in the empty gutter wondering where their water's gone. Hoping they get fed up soon and look for somewhere else. It's amaxing how much noise they make

l[Bydiaj][/B] How very nice to "see" you again! We missed you so much. I'm so glad you've found someone who'll be able to help you all xx

Sue I take it Josh got on all right on the tour? :T Huge Well Done to him and to youngest!

viva, thanks for the welcome back. :hello:

ivyleaf, glad to hear something's being done about it. My DS was bullied for years at a primary school who were unable or unwilling to do anything much about it. When he went to secondary school, things were fine for a bit and then he started getting bullied there too, by one particular boy. I reported it to the school, and was totally bowled over by the difference in response. It was all sorted within 24 hours. A member of the senior management took statements from all concerned, and DS was told firmly that he had done the right thing reporting it. I don't know what exactly they did to the other kid, but he never gave DS a peep of trouble ever again.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Our front gutter is leaking badly where there is a joint. I went up the ladder and tried to push the ends together but they don't seem long enough...how does that work, does plastic pvc shrink? I am pretty sure the house has not got bigger...
    I think....

House will get bigger and drains will shrink, it all expands and contracts at different rates.

When the sun first strikes in the morning stand outside and you can here the 'clicking' of the drains as they flex from the heat.
Left is never right but I always am.

The sun's now in a position where, before, it was entirely blocked by the tree. Instead of half the house being in its shade there's now even more light into this room, a fully sunny side garden, a fully sunny front (before the whole front would be in shade) and even more sun's flooding into the kitchen.

At this time of day I'd have typically been staring up at the tree, seeing that the sun was behind it (from about 12 noon until about 5pm) and thinking "... if only...."
