Good suggestion PN. Dad appears to have had a good day today - interacting like his former self at times, and much more alert.
I've booked train tickets down in 3 weeks' time so will see then. Until then, I'm OK I thinklostinrates wrote: »Ok. Update.
Really pleased to hear that they seem to have focused on you and your specific elements - and that you found it an overall positive experience. Hope they keep it up - sounds promising.0 -

Then I started wondering, so in the end I did: 'time and date now' in Google .... ah, it's still Friday evening
I thought it was Friday evening last night. When it got to about midnight, I suddenly realised that I had to be in work this morning, and that I'd better put the light out!!We're sitting next to each other for another 4 weeks, not sure how I'm going to cope
Bliss
I sat next to someone I fancied rotten throughout the first year at Uni. Even sent him a V Day card (I'm sure he never knew it was me)
He now works at another office of my organisation and is peripherally on a project with me. It was very weird hearing his voice on a telephone call a couple of weeks ago, for the first time in 20+ years
In other news, I have cracked open a bottle of wine and made up some butterscotch Angel Delight. I shall have it with home-grown raspberries. Let nobody say I don't know how to live :beer:0 -

My favourite flavour! I tend to buy 2 butterscotch and one strawberry as something at the back of my head tells me I should be preferring strawberry...but I don't.0 -
It HAS to be butterscotch. Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. About the only thing I have in common with Simon Cowell. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Yeah, I wouldn't consider any other flavour of AD than Butterscotch. Unless maybe next-door-desk-neighbour0

Oh that was just soooooo good (yes it was a supermarket own brand).
I ate it all.
On the plus side, it was skimmed milk :T0 -
I used to like the choc flavour too. When I had a friend to tea, my mum would make up a packet of choc AD and decorate it with little blobs of whipped cream and halved glace cherries.
<sighs in happy reminiscence>
So sorry to hear the news, Gen. Thinking of you and your family.
Yorkie So glad your DDad sounds better
lir How cute that kiwi grins, bless him. Any chance of a pic?
PN And it's STILL Friday evening!0 -

AD can ONLY be made with proper milk. These days that's blue top; we had silver top in the 60s/70s and I'm sure that was creamier than blue top....
Red/green top milk is the work of the devil.
What about gold top I think Waitrose do a full cream Jersey milk.0 -

Hello everyoneDo you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0
