My experience is that the solicitor going AWOL is an indication that their client is unable to proceed. Hopefully, they'll get their ducks in a row soon.

Gee, cheer me up! :rotfl: I think sol is back in the office today.

Meanwhile am watching The Go-between on BBC2 - costume drama always does it for me! :)

We've got the Tour de France on in Australia. They're getting into the mountains now; my favourite bit.

I have great hopes for Froome this year; he really is looking strong. We'll see how he goes after a couple of days in the mountains. Contador and Nibali have started weakly but could easily make up the time required on a single mountain stage.

Gluten free bread - is it made from gold? Bought a YS loaf from Sains on Sunday for 46p...now discovering that the standard pice is £3 per loaf - normally we get branded 800g bread for a quid or less so his stuff is 6x more expensive

It's made from special/expensive ingredients (rather than purely being a price of greed). Saw it on the telly when the question was asked/explored. Jimmy Doherty, Food Unwrapped.

If I were gluten intolerant I'd just not eat some stuff rather than trying to get a GF version.

I didn't mean totally unable to proceed, just unable to proceed now. The solicitor being awol is like a diplomatic illness.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Cheers maggie. I might even take the week off. Looks like a lot of fun.:j.

Oooh Le Tour is getting interesting. Nibali is going backwards (not literally - it means he's not keeping up). Valverde is looking great. Strong and fast and able to accelerate away from the front.

Froome is killing it!!!! He's up against Quintana who is formidable in the mountains. Froome has opened up a big gap though.

Team Sky / Team GB clearly seem to have a special ingredient when it comes to cycling at the moment and I am not talking about magic wheels. (Hopefully) it is within the letter of the rules though I wonder if it is within the spirit.

Apropos of nothing, been intrigued by the photos of Pluto. Tried to explain to DS that it's got a small diameter volume but a relatively larger surface (over 6 million square miles) so it's the size if the USA plus Brazil or Canada plus India, or more than half of Africa. Which of those pairings gives the best idea of the sheer expanse of the area (they're roughly comparable in reality)?

Saw a probe being launched at Mercury which took I think about 7 years to get there. This one took even longer. This seems even more important than all this half-baked talk of executing innocent people by firing them at Mars.:o

    We have a new fence!

I've paid half and given the bank account details to the neighbour to pay the other half as agreed. Hopefully they will sort and harmony be restored.

Our solicitor has returned from holiday, told him that we are going away soon and he promised to get back to me....heard nothing more. :(
