In the past we have had more comms with the students before they came. This time we were otld early April about them then heard nothing, I chased in June and heard nothing, chased again end of June/early July and told they were coming on the 12th but no more info until I got an email from the students on the 11th after which I chatted briefly with them on Facebook but it was pretty much too late to ask about dietary requirements by then anyway so I just took them to the supermarket shortly after they arrived yesterday. But yes it all seems pretty vague and disorganised considering they are only 16.I think....0

How did they cope with the requirement to use vouchers / points?
Or did you just tell them they could have anything They wanted, with a yellow sticker on?No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

I did even forget the nectar one item first trick though (buy 1 item first with each of mine and DWs nectar cards and then use the vouchers produced on the main shop)I think....0 -
In an intro to English Culture they were allowed to come and see DD1s end of year and end of school play last night - not entirely sure why she had been cast as a harpy...we also got her sats results, a solid set of 5s which is in theory above average but will only put her in the middle at secondary school as it is selective (based on parental income of those who can afford to live in the catchment area).I think....0

Sounds a good set of results, well done to her!
Being in the middle is a fine place to start. Food I own and can't touch includes: crisps, sweeties, a small cheesecake, two rounds of sandwiches I made (coleslaw/peppers/cucumber), a sandwich I bought (cheese), a pack of sausage rolls, two slices of cold pizza.
Probably the best haul of perishable food I've had in the fridge for ages - and not able to touch any of it
i'd try freezing anything that I've highlighted blue. Sausage rolls certainly freeze. Hm cheesecake does. Some sandwiches do. Pizza.....well, better to try than bin. It won't be the same but reheated in the micro wave it will be hot...and a bit floppy I guess.
I wouldn't freeze the bought sandwich because it might already have been frozen. ( if you are sure it hasn't , e.g. Bakery not supermarket, freeze it.0 -
Gluten free bread - is it made from gold? Bought a YS loaf from Sains on Sunday for 46p...now discovering that the standard pice is £3 per loaf - normally we get branded 800g bread for a quid or less so his stuff is 6x more expensive :eek:I think....0

Latest news is that purchaser has to wait for insurance bods to check they're an OK person which will take them 72 hours! Gee whizz, didn't realise it was so difficult to get insurance these days! <roll eyes smiley>0 -

My experience is that the solicitor going AWOL is an indication that their client is unable to proceed. Hopefully, they'll get their ducks in a row soon.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
