I was ad-libing. Or living in a parallel universe. Or normally both.

One house we viewed: the garage was full of empty whisky bottles. 100s of them. Someone had quite a habit!
    Was it good stuff?

Yes, there are unknown unknowns. It's the sort of thing I'd expect a management consultant to talk about quite a lot. I'm now worried that you are an imposter. :)

I thought it would be rude to pick up the bottles, look at the labels, and laugh that it wasn't single malt. Was I wrong, then?

My favourite is a rather nice blend actually. Some fine blends are better than some single malts. Just like ......um, smoked salmon is nice, but better with, perhaps the best bread to enhance it, a beautiful horseradish, or fresh lemon, hint of black pepper and creamy, thinly spread butter, or perfect fresh bagel, oozy fresh cream cheese and fresh, crisp chives.....even the best smoked salmon is a little lonely with no friend at all on the plate. A good blend is not a bad choice. :)

I'm probably awful. I fry smoked salmon! Very hot pan, no fat, and ten seconds at most. It completely changes the texture and flavour.

Hamish will be along in a moment, to correct us. I agree with your taste. I prefer a decent blend to a poor single malt. Lidl do a blended malt, which I like, for not a lot of money.

Yuk, I dislike hot smoke salmon.

Debating the etiquette of graduation. DS2 and the GF graduate at same ceremony, given their surnames are close they may even be on stage at the same time.

How much time should we think of spending with her family?

OH thinks that saying hello is enough, I'm not sure that we shouldn't be going out for a meal together afterwards?

I've (only) just noticed that you can alter a post, but not lose any of the thanks. So you can post a lovely picture of adorable little kittens, and everybody thanks you. Then later, you take out the picture of kittens and replace it with a statement that Uncle Joe Stalin was a lovely fellow, complete with thanks from loads of people. Then, in years to come, the Thought Police will look through this forum ....... :)

I can't swear to what I saw, but I stood up and saw something small and brown "hop" what I thought was under the shed. It didn't look like a "fly round the back" ..... bugg4h.
