I can juggle. I suspect that the impact is lessened over the Internet.

Lir, a gentle reminder to call GP.
Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

:( Getting up for work is bad at the best of times. When it is a beautiful sunny day and everyone else in the house is on holiday....

Been trying to get through for an hour and a half now  logically I think I'll give up trying now and stop clogging up line. Hope to remember later. The problem is all the appointments are only available for the distant future or the odd held back on the day ones. Mine is not 'urgent' but I do feel I've had a good attempt at home treatment and another few weeks might lead to ripping lips off. Knowing I could be seen this or next week would be reassuring.

Still grey here. Might burn off and be glorious later? Some of the best days start a bit lacklustre.....

Thanks for the new thread Zag.

Youngest out at a party, a party being thrown by his friends for his birthday....I say party but it is more a gathering of like minded teenagers mucking about taking selfies and going to the local chinese for chips.

    Aw, that's lovely :)

Thanks for the lovely new thread zag!

Nikkster What an amazing thing to do - swimming in the snow, as it were :D

Lovely to have you back pastures new :)

    :rotfl: Wonderful!

lir Remember to call GP x

ETA lir Pls ignore my "helpful" reminder! Sorry. I have to make an appointment with mine too. he's on holiday atm and I couldn't make an appointment last week for a day after he's due back because they were "installing a new appointment system". I'm sure they did that last year! But they've got a new practice manager since then...

Maggie I hope you managed to get a good night's sleep and feel less weary this morning. Thanks for the grape hyacinths! I've got some too. x

Doctors' appointments aren't for the sick - they're for the malingerers as they are the only ones well enough to continue trying to get through until they finally get an appointment. The genuinely sick die trying :)

That's ok, its useful ivy leaf!

I did get through just now. :). Bizarre conversation.

Lir: hi, I'd like to see a GP this week if possible not bothered which.
Receptionist: is it possible you could give me an idea of nature of the problem?

lir: yeah, I don't mind in THIS instance. I've had some thing going on with my lips, took advice from pharmacist, been taking antihistamines, two types, for some time, problem changing, more uncomfortable.

Reception: yes, that's a priority issue, and would qualify for a same day appt. I have an appointment on Thursday you can have or we release new appointments at one o'clock you could try calling back to get.

Lir. Hmm. Its taken me nearly two hours to get through and you say its important, why cannot I have a this afternoon appointment now?

Reception: they aren't released until one o'clock. Its very busy today because of Easter, but there is the Thursday appt or, the afternoon ones.

    Lir: I'll take Thursday please

Reception: I think because of what you have described you should be seen this afternoon really...

Lir: but I have to gamble and call back at one? And try and egg through?

    Reception: well, yes.

    Lir: I'll take Thursday.

Reception. Ok, but our advice for symptoms you have described is same day appointment.

You gotta smile right? ( if your lips don't hurt? ). I can of course call back at one and if there is an appt cancel the Thursday one, but after nearly two hours to get through this morning I doubt it will be possible.
  • Can I be on the front page, too, please?:)
