Zap! Zag's zany zeal zestfully zooms us into NP part 14: Zinging!
And as I am still on the first page, just to say to all the NP who no longer post regularly, you are certainly not forgotten (unless you want to be)I think....0 -

It's the little things in life....:D
Cheers Zag BTW“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

Thank you Zag, that is a warm welcome.0

Thanks Zag.GDB2222 wrote:Also, whilst on the bizarre, DW is off by train tomorrow to visit her brother in Manchester. Two standard single tickets cost £70 in total, whilst a cheap day return is £81.60. There's nowt as queer as rail pricing.
From experience, the virgin trains website often has tickets not available elsewhere, including an off peak, web only return for about £75. Thank you for the welcome, zag. I shall post a picture of my fluffy fireside socks when I'm back in them.
Seemlessly links to...
The view from my bedroom last week. Photo taken whilst I was having lunch on my balcony(there are a sting of words I've never put together before! This is as close as I get to a selfie. Please excuse the cankles and the poorly maintained toenails....)
And I was swimming here about 10 mins after I took this photo (I went for a recce before heading down with minimal possessions of value). I had the pool to myself for 50 mins; and for most of that time it was snowing. Amazing experience.0 -
Thanks for the new thread Zag.
Youngest out at a party, a party being thrown by his friends for his birthday....I say party but it is more a gathering of like minded teenagers mucking about taking selfies and going to the local chinese for chips. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Remind me not to play against you at scrabble! :eek:Seemlessly links to...

Thank you Zag!
Nikkster that looks simply wonderful! Glad someone so deserving gets perks like that
( edit, and if anyone remembers remind me to call GP tomorrow eh? These lips are really not right, so while its not earth shattering I better get them checked out. Wish it were still swollen so at least it looked good.0 -

I'm not even going to try and pretend it was anything less than amazing (and couple biz class travel either end of it ). Plus I got to listen to the equivalent of superstars doing their thing.
We did have long days (my alarm was set for 05:45 every day except the day I left - including after arriving at 22:00 straight from the airport), and the days finished at around 22:00. But it was fabulous. And I unexpectedly (almost typed randomly, but I guess that's not entirely true) bumped into a friend there. Which resulted in a rather large alcohol intake on the last night (despite the best attempts of state law...).
Edit: I guess this is an advantage of being footloose and fancy free (aka on the shelf and childless) - I could say yes to this at pretty short notice
Edit 2: And that's really lovely of you to say too, lir. Not once whilst I was there (or travelling there) did I think I didn't deserve it (slightly proud of that). I just figured I might well never get to do anything like that again so I was going to make the very most I could of it (apart from skiing).
