We have a landline.
Mainly to call abroad on those cheapo 0.5 or 1p/min. 0844/0845 access numbers for which you need a landline. I'd guess 80% or more of our calls are abroad.
We have a landline, mainly to keep the poor sods who work in call centres in India employed.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Am not feeling overly optimistic though...
Don't worry... go bowling or something.
Any idea when you're going to get a response?0 -
Pleased to hear it's sorted PN.....definitely a very similar scenario to my late f's. The home we had chosen was part of a large group, although there were no other facilities owned by them in the area as most seemed to be oop North, whereas ours was on the South Coast. However, we did particularly choose it because it was one that specifically stated my parents would not be made to leave when their conditions worsened, so for staff to then decide he was too far gone to take back seemed a bit off, although like your situation they later backtracked.....:o
You should be insisting on an assessment for NHS CC though....although my f passed away within a few weeks of it being awarded, it's the principle of the matter imho x

I also know there's some NHS other fund of £109/week that I could look into if money raises its head.
We're self funding (brought up to believe "one day all this will be yours", to have to sell the house, now a few years on, to see the pot's going to be empty)0 -

You do know that due to ofcoms wisdom that is all going to disappear in a feew weeks as BT are going to charge about 10ppm on top off what the 08 number providor charges whereas previously they had to connect such calls at no charge (per minute) for themselves (except for a 15p connection fee)I think....0 -
You do know that due to ofcoms wisdom ...
From my corner of no clue what's going on in the world, or how phones etc work ..... phones are far too complex.
I liked the olden days when you paid BT for a phone, the Gas Company for gas, the Electric Company for electric .... and there was none of this eternal faffing around.0 -
Prepaid Skype to call abroad Wheezy? How is that now for cost? (We are FaceTime now, it saves us a bloody fortune in running costs, though of course, the capital expenditure.....;))0
