I have a landline, but there isn't a phone plugged into it (I don't even own one).Nearly time for me to look for a new Internet provider. If I pick a package with free calls I might buy a phone then look to swap my mobile contract for a cheaper one.
Decisions decisions.
Free calls are generally only to other landlines. If fewer people have landlines then free landline calls are worth less and less as the years go by.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I have a landline, with a phone plugged into it, unfortunately, the phone doesn't work as the cat decided it made a brilliant toy and kept knocking it off, breaking it in the process!
I keep meaning to get another phone but so far, haven't got round to it and as it is cheaper to still have the phone line on my package than without, it keeps being pushed to the back of my mind.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Hope you manage to sort things out with the minimum of hassle, PN. Will be thinking of you. Hugs from Liverpool.0

If recovery is not an option, sibling has a valid point.
I had a relative who ended up in a hospital/ care facility that was meant to be for a few days until a transfer could be arranged. A month later family member with responsibility was still !!!!ing in the wind, visiting suitable and unsuitable places to transfer (and arguing about costs, location etc) after 6 weeks the facility announced they would arrange the move if nothing had been sorted. More pressure from family on (ir-)responsible person and a home was found with a move date agreed. One day after the move she had a stroke and died.
The new home was mortified that she had gone so quickly after being admitted to their care, but maybe her time had come/ maybe the move was too much for her.
I think it outrageous that homes that are offering end of life care require a month's notice.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. We have a landline.
Mainly to call abroad on those cheapo 0.5 or 1p/min. 0844/0845 access numbers for which you need a landline. I'd guess 80% or more of our calls are abroad.0
