That was my experience with the charity shops and MIL's furniture.
I contacted another person and they got back to me straight away. I explained that it was very heavy , would need two able people to move it and probably a van rather than a car to transport it. The chap said he would come straight away and he felt sure it would fit in his car. He has just been, with his wife. He is coming back later or tomorrow with Gary, his mate, and Gary's trailer.
His wife did not have the build for carrying heavy furniture down cottage stairs and their hatchback was never going to fit in a 48" high and 47" wide carcase.0 -
A few weeks ago I made a round trip of 80 miles to deliver some pretty nice hifi speakers to a guy for free. He has a disability and told me he can't drive.
Anyway, less than 48 hours later he texts me to ask me to collect them as he has bought some others. I'm beginning to think I was a free taxi!
I hope it works out Spirit, but sometimes if something is free there is a possibility the recipient doesn't value them.
I don't see why you have any further obligation, let him freecycle them!I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Is he online? Let him freecycle them. You did him a huge favour, you don't deserve any more hassle. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
What a wonderful weekend I had! My black and blue foot is almost normal colour again...though a bit swollen today, not too sore at all band I did use it a lot. Had a wonderful look round Brighton Pavillion this morning. I was going to potter this afternoon, but fir's friend's family were going to both sets of the gig so I felt maybe I should too ( feeling I might be a bad wife only turning up to second set other wise...) and I'm glad I did because the first set was better apart from fir's friends solo which was better second set. I had not expected to enjoy it so much, but it was really good fun, the band leaders were good, one was better than good in fact, and the venue was packed to over flowing ( would have been much better to stick to guns and played out side and shivered IMO for numbers).
Really fun to see different levels and ages of musicians getting together just enjoy something. The fundraising thing is a bonus, watching the kids playing was for me the biggest fun.
Came home and RP had left, and locked dog dog in but left kiwi locked out. Shrug.. No idea what, why that is about. Kiwi should not be out....who knows where he will have been. Hopefully not over the sprayed fields.0 -

It struggled up to 14C today and is rapidly heading to 8C tonight. Might have to move to Queensland at this rate. My back does not like these temperatures.
I flew into Sydney on Saturday morning. Bloody freezing! Luckily I only stayed one night and then flew up to Brisbane - it is warmer here although not massively so, apparently it has been about 25-28 most days but as soon as I arrived the clouds have come and it has just about made it up to 20 today.
Did you go to the Spurs/Sydney FC match on Sat?0 -

Nope. Had tickets too but was looking after the in-law's kids instead. I know where I'd rather have been.0 -
