Niks photo: I assumed it was the local 'poppy' farmers just waiting to harvest the seeds....

If it is a lodger you can throw them out, it is your way of the highway.

I wear the same shoes every weekday for about 3 years until they wear out, weekends I wear the same trainers until they wear out.

they live on a rack by the garage door, it fits about 25 pairs, we have another rack mounted on the inside of the understairs cupboard door with about 30 pairs on it. Then there are about 10-20 pairs in the bottom of each of 7 or 8 wardrobes, various boots in corners and scattered around the place, some piled up next to the utility room door and several sacks of grown out of shoes in the garage. I have a pair of shoes, a pair of trainers, a pair of leather boots and a pair of crocs.

I forgot also quite a few pairs under various beds. Did I mention DW is a compulsive shopper and hoarder?
    I think....

What do you wear when they need re heeling or some such? Does the heel last the three years? That's good going with daily wear!

I'm guessing fir's go around that long but over greater number of years thinking about it, but hard to tell, because of rotation.....he has one pair that get favoured and the heels got hammered.

    They're be disappointed. They're tulips :)

I do have a heart, you know. This is only temporary, only ever was. And the point was to help someone in need. They have much bigger challenges to deal with than my OCD (which clearly doesn't extend to my shoe storage...).

    Will delete:

    There's a German saying:
Visitors are like fish. After three days they stink.

I think I would prioritize my list of complaints, and try only to make the first couple.

That is the problem with schools these days, don't teach 'em enough to read the words on the seed packets....

You could re heel for a fraction of new cheap shoes.

Fir has found quite good shoes in the past at tk Maxx, though i think fewer come through now. Would be worth considering two pairs then reheeling for moneysaving reasons alone.

It might not be. It might be some sort of irregular. But it would make sense for that to be the plural.

I checked the Oxford English Dictionary, and they say the plural of ghetto is ghettos or ghettoes. On the other hand, they say the plural of concerto is concertos or concerti. English is not very consistent.

They tend to look pretty tired by the time the heels wear down enough to need redoing. Locally they seem to charge 10-20 quid for reheeling.
