Saw a possible BTL which came onto right move on Friday, viewed and offered 8% below asking price on Saturday. Told yesterday they had a higher cash offer they were accepting.
May have done you a favour. I've been seeing properties selling at Auction above the prices they'd achieve through an EA. Even the 'crap' here in West Kent is selling within days of hitting the market. This isn't going to end well!0 -

Everything away, all tidied up ....and the last job was to take the ladder upstairs.... slipped on the 4th/5th step, hurt my left foot and right big toe ... and I'm lying there in agony, face down on the stairs, still clutching the ladder as I daren't let it go ... and crying with pity and pain
Eventually managed to recover enough to leave the ladder at the bottom of the stairs ... and now I'm here bemoaning my uselessness.

AND ..to make matters worse, I managed to bang just above my ankle with the bush cropper .... which is now black and swollen ...and really beginning to be noticeable as 'pain'. When I did it I just thought "oh well, industrial accident" ...and didn't think anything more of it. Now I've stopped it's throbbing.

Taking a cruise out of Barcelona on an American ship is interesting... all of the Americans prefer the early dining at 6pm, the Spanish all want the latest possible dining, which is normally 8.30pm. I wonder how eating times differ culturally worldwide.
Yes, culture certainly impacts. Tradition med hours business hours might be till 7:30 ( after a long break for lunch) so restaurants / evening life and a stroll for aperitivi or a visit to the bar etc would be after that still.
Also think of those who do a lot of cultural stuff and are used to 'theatre suppers' sort of light late dining.0 -
PasturesNew wrote: »Maybe ... I can't walk well on my left one and that's where the first injury of the day occurred (ankle swollen). But my right leg's OK, big toe recovered quite well.
It's my right one that's strained ( that one is bad leg anyway) good leg gets pretty tired though and gets very rigid through joints and cannot release ankle well any more.because of strain of being weight bearing leg.
. He's an unsung hero, good leg.

It's when something goes wrong like that that being single is most lonely and frustrating.
Sending cyberhugs. :grouphug:Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Yes, I think and send hugs too.
I feel incredibly weak and stupid having to cave for help over such a silly thing as an ankle, but grateful I can call for help. ( and trying to give weekend best shot of being mobile)0 -

I dunno, can be pretty frustrating when you're living with someone who whilst being a lovely person has apparently very little common sense and manages to forget/ misinterpret very basic and direct [STRIKE]orders[/STRIKE] polite requests.
Its a great reminder of the joys of living alone...0 -
