If you are in a flood zone, you can sign up for warnings from the Environment Agency.
No, I'm not on a flood zone. There are flood areas round here and a scheme, but it doesn't apply to my address, which is some kind of 'proof' it's OK.0 -
My first weekend away for flipping ages and I'm going to spend it immobile
Ankle is at least bruising now. ( taking a while to come out, not like me).
And I'm having to call for help today. This grates like fingernails on a chalk board. I hate needed help.0 -
Well done for asking for help. For some of us that takes even more than soldiering on alone!
Hope things aren't as bad as they seem now and you're back in action for the weekend.0 -
Pie and Pizza, with a whole BBQ Chicken thrown in
What's there not to like?

We eat at around 7.30pm. I think that is quite late, I suspect it is a London thing, with a lot of people having a long commute.
The boys would often eat first - the choice between feeding them a snack to keep them going and then finding them too full for dinner or letting them eat earlier.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. We eat anywhere between 6.30 and 7.30, think we must be on London time too...or just a layover from all the clubs they used to go to when they were younger.
Car is in for its MOT tomorrow, keep your fingers crossed for me please, really don't need another large repair bill at the moment.
Oh and James made his very first spaghetti bologneise yesterday, he declared it lovely but not as good as mine as he overdid the sauce but as a first attempt, the photo he sent looked good enough to me.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Lydia, as requested, I erected a barrier across the foxes' path. It was just a wooden garden Bench that I moved over from a different part of the garden. There is a crossbar between the legs, like the stretcher on a dining chair, but it is quite low and the Fox could just step over it. The 1st Fox I saw looked extremely put out. He approached the bench with caution, and then he went round it, giving it quite a wide berth. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

Well done James
I remember DS being very chuffed when he learned to make a very simple chicken curry (chicken, onion, garlic, canned tomatoes, chicken stock from a cube, some curry paste.)
lir So sorry about your ankle. Got fingers x'd that by the weekend it will be better enough for you to get around with the help of some tubigrip, if you take things gently.0 -
I sent an important email yesterday without an attachment. I keep doing that sort of thing, and I understand that there is a well-known psychological process behind it. Anyway, I have now added a macro that searches for the word attach and gives a suitable warning. It is so simple that I cannot believe it has taken me this long to do.
Private Sub Application_ItemSend(ByVal Item As Object, Cancel As Boolean)
If InStr(1, Item.Body, "attach", vbTextCompare) > 0 Then
If Item.Attachments.Count = 0 Then
answer = MsgBox("There's no attachment, send anyway?", vbYesNo + vbSystemModal)
If answer = vbNo Then Cancel = True
End If
End If
End Sub
(Not my work, by the way. Just copied from the interweb.)No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

He is understandably suspicious. Thanks for the update.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0
