DW had a womens magazine a while back. (She gets annoyed on holiday coz I read mine on the way out; then I read hers and tell her about the content before she has chance to read it !).

There was this Danish gay drag queen working in Soho who earned money through modelling womens tights. He claimed that 95% of the pictures you see on womens tights packaging are men!!

Dunno if it's true, but it's funny how it seems to rile DW :rotfl:

I can't imagine any of them are distance or fell runners - you end up with calfs like a footballers.

Whose ever legs they are they are enviably long and slim. :). Lucky them :D

    ...... gay drag queen .....

Each to their own, but I never quite understand this.

A gay man fancies men, so to appear attractive to men, he dresses up as a woman? So what makes a gay man fancy a drag queen? If the "drag" was 100% successful he would look totally like a woman and therefore be attractive to straight men, but he is trying to attract gay men....

Always puzzled me and I don't know any drag queens to ask.

I got the impression the drag queen bit was a job, a bit like the Lilly Savage guy (forget the name, Paul something?).

I guess we could be conflating 2 separate things?

    Dunno....no DQs round here either.

I have a couple of friends who drag up occasionally. Its more for fun though I think. I've not really asked about it because...its not occurred to me to tbh. I have another bisexual but mainly into women friend who likes wearing knickers and other underwear. It just really turns him on. Again, I've not asked for an analysis, he likes it, doesn't bother me, I just miss shopping with him :rotfl:.

What was interesting is how DW and I both read the same article but took away different things?

She questioned the legitimacy of it; and the looks thing.

I related to the commercial aspect - apparently one of the main reasons was that male tights models do not suffer cellulite and therefore have a longer potential career.

Weird eh? I like weird things - it's a funny old world.

    Does the opposite occur?

Are there women who get excited with the idea of wearing socks or y-fronts?

Hey, I wore tights today too ;)

    Some men get cellulite.

But men often have less curved legs, that long lean thing. Fir would say for example he finds those legs often ' unwomanly'. I think they are lovely but could see I would envy them on a long lean woman and can imagine some of my male friends with those pins. :D

Not that weird. Used to go hill-walking and tights-wearing's as commonplace as I dunno- the middle ages.

Well there is a style of knickers called boy shorts. There are quite a few um, 'art nude' shorts of women in men's pants. ( does nothing for me, but a lot of people are into gender play or androgynous stuff. ).

Women have been wearing socks for quite some time now. :rotfl: I never equated it with gender play though. :D just cold feet or being dressed.

    I have Skins running tights.

I was highly dubious when I bought them, but I have to say I'm won over.

They use different materials to compress the different parts of the legs.

All very high tech. In fact, I went and bought the recovery tights as well [but I can't be arrised to wear those].
