I can see it. Doesn't look like it shrank to me.
What do you mean, you 'had to swap'? I thought we had the option to keep old style?
I started having trouble with it on my phone. Then I chose something like 'old forum, bew masthead' and that was as old as i could get. And that was crap too.
The mobile version of the new one is dreadful, so I'm on the new desktop. Starting to get used to it.
My MP is just about to get a new job. Wandering into number 10.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Ah, that explains why I thought you were female when I came across your posts on other threads
Really nice to have you posting on this one, i must say
ETA It's Mr ivyleaf's birthday today and I haven't got him a present yet, because as usual i asked him if there was anything he'd like and he replied "Not really!"
What does he like?
I have had some good pressies of DWs' parents. A decent spirit level. A set of good quality small pliers.
Any hobbies you can tap into?0 -

Only female at weekends
I like this thread, but it's easy to fall out of the conversation topic. PN's furniture dalliances certainly resonated with me though0 -

We sort of stopped buying physical presents for each other.
If I have to ask her 'what do you want?' and she replies 'a slow cooker', I'd still need to ask what capacity it needs to be, if it needs a timer, a stoneware pot, different heating levels etc..etc.....then I'd go buy it and hand her a present which is not a surprise in any way and probably the wrong choice after all.
Sure I still get her the occasional perfume, jewelry or choccies for anniversaries or xmas.
But now we mainly go for EVENTS under the motto 'surprise me!'.:)
It can be anything really, from theatre tickets to weekends away. Things we've done..
- RHS flower show
- The Cherry Orchard - (Chekhov play)
- Guided tour of Houses of Parliament
- a Spa Day in Sussex
- Thorpe Park
- Seaside weekend (coming up)
etc....
Even when the event is not a huge success, at least we get our lazy bums off the sofa and see a bit of the world.
But that didn't help you at all regarding a present for Mr. ivyleaf, did it?0 -

Our best gifts have been trips/events. Gliding lessons, flying over London, surprise weekend trips to Barcelona, Venice, the Moulin Rouge in Paris.
Wouldn't suit everybody but we enjoy it.There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Well, I bought DW facial/beauty package vouchers which went unused for months and months.
This time around? I paid for salsa dancing lessons for both of us. Have they been used? Nope , ahh well0 -

I am difinitly someone who prefers experiences to "stuff".I have had a chicken keeping course ( and chickens), a paint techniques course and a SPA day, from OH. DD has bought concert/opera tickets, massage and facials.
We often go away for my Birthday and used to alternate between France and Italy, last year was France. This year it is London as we have tickets for Turandot at th ROH.
OH has had shooting lessons, tennis coaching and last year a breadmaking course.
Sometimes we still get presents, although I am told I am hard to buy for OH usually gets it right. i usually consult him on his presents as he enjoys "choosing" in recent years he has had a gun and an Apple mac.0 -
"a gun and an Apple mac"
Was it an iGun ?
For me, the look of the wood in the stock of a sporting gun adds to the look of the gun. I guess it's a personal choice thing.
It's nice to see a lot of support for courses
I'd like a bee keeping course, but I'm not sure if we can keep bees here.0 -

It was some chest cold/thing. Still got a tiny cough .... but the general heavy/aching's gone now and the dead head .... and lack of strength.
3am I managed to get as far as having a Lemsip powder, that was the start of the "getting better" phase....it took until then to have the energy to get as far as the kettle and manage to make it. Then I slept again until 9am and had another one .... then sprawled, full of self-pity, on the sofa until half an hour ago when I felt I might be able to make a push and have a bath.
You poor, poor thing. Take care. So glad you have that slow cooker now.0
