When I was pregnant I went from salad cream to mayonnaise, reverted soon after the birth. Second time round went back to mayo and stuck with it ever since.

When I was pregnant I became vegetarian, Couldn't even bear the smell of meat cooking.

I use matonaise for making coleslaw and that is about it, My downfall is HM french dressing for salad, turns a light salad into a calorific horror story. So much so that today I have bought a low fat vinagerette dressing.but not looking forward to trying it.

Perhaps it depends how much you use, but my view is that salad dressing is "a good thing" if it encourages eating salad. Most people don't enjoy lettuce without any added flavouring.

I subscribe to the new school of fat not being the enemy, but "low fat", chemically processed food.

A homemade dressing of any variety is better than anything in a jar.

I love simple olive oil and balsamic, but french is only oil, white wine vinegar, dijon mustard and a bashed up garlic clove - shaken up. Nothing bad at all and more MSE than anything bottled. It will taste better, too.

I mix mayo and salad cream om pasta and potato salads.

Home made vinigrette is delicious but we often just eat salad undressed as I am lazy. Didn't they decide that saturated fats may not be a problem after all? (he asks hopefully)

Stuffocation is a word that really resonates with me. I am bad but dd and the dks are worse, we will definitely star in a hoarder show before too long.

I have rerooted a down pipe across the flat roof rather than on to it and touch wood no leaks yet but we need even more rain plus a southerly gale to give a proper test.
    I think....

I like both tea and coffee, though each time I was pregnant I couldn't drink coffee - it just tasted all wrong. Weird how that happens!

White coffee or black tea for me through the day, but the first drink each morning is always a strong, black coffee, usually with OH in bed at 4am.

Back on lates this week, so hopefully it will be considerably later :)

I'm sure I also read somewhere that is better to eat salad with some fat as it helps the body absorb certain nutrients. Not a fan of ready made salad dressings, never taste as good as they sound. Partial to a bit of salad cream but not enough to bother buying any. If I'm making a salad to take to work I quite like a bit of houmous to go with it. Keep meaning to try making my own vinaigrette.

Think it'll take a great deal more than salad to counteract Saturday night! A friend stupidly offered that I could crash in her hotel room if I didn't make the last train. So clearly I didn't even try :o
Had a fab time though. The play list was designed by the bride to capture the feel of the dingy club we used to go to way back when :)
Got myself home yesterday morning, which turned out to be the pinnacle of the days achievements :o

I bought a bottle a while back that has markings on the side and you just fill up to the relevant levels and then just add the next ingredient. It's so easy to use. I haven't used shop bought (except salad cream and mayo) since. I think it cost a couple of pounds for the bottle, but has saved me many times that in wasted dressing.

ETA... apparently you can get those bottles with really complex recipes on. Mine has really simple ones, such as vinaigrette, and oil and balsamic.

I make salad dressing in a jam jar. Olive oil, balsamic vinegar, bit of dijon mustard, and some pepper. Put the lid on and shake it for ten seconds. Any not needed can go in the fridge.

Ok, sounds like I need to save my next empty jar (I don't seem to generate many!), but some white wine or balsamic vinegar and give it a go :)

I have one of these, but the lid keeps going missing some how. It does make measuring things out easy....I am a splash of this and dash of that person, but this makes it easy, means less washing up, and sits in the fridge well. Nothing saying you cannot swap vinegar types etc.....
