I haven't really noticed but is she still as painfully thin as she had gotten?
She looks healthy. She's just given birth but she looks entirely the right weight, right now.
Wills needs to go for a number 2 all over or a hair transplant. He looks a fair bit older than us with a bit of an optimistic combover.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Good. She looked so much thinner than she had previously before that wedding at some points it was shocking.
I think its extremely unenviable to have to walk out infront of the world having given birth even with access to a great wardrobe fund, and people to primp you to help you look your best.
I've always thought they sort of match well looks wise, neither particularly gorgeous nor ugly. He might look worse now, it might all be different in thirty years...0 -
Last night we went to an incredibly good recital of a jazz pianist.
Incredible for a couple of reasons.
1. I stayed awake.
2. Local venue ( the one for played, so walking distance from home)
3. The guy is classically trained and a great performer as well as musician.
He did a beautiful thing where a teenager in the the audience, a local boy, had prepared a tune to play and was invited up to play it and then was invited to play with the musician and encouraged to improvise safely, playing only the black notes while the pianist played chords for rhythm and depth that could not clash but held a beat, so what ever the boy did would sound tuneful, but he had to choose and make the melody ....but whatever he did would work.
It was a game fir knew but I have not seen done and I was entranced with the use of the harmonious sweet spots, to create a safe space for experimentation, where a young musician could play safely with no 'failure' or chiding or trying to think of too many things at once. I just thought it was lovely. So a young teenage boy could experience performing an off the cuff improv, not knowing when he would be called to wind it up, just letting his fingers and mind wander and wonder .....
And now I kinda want my piano back.0 -
Nikkster, I love the door and think the railings will look very stylish. You have posted that there is a bus stop outside your house. Will excessive litter pass beneath the railings into your garden?
Lir the cake looks great fun, especially for a household of grown ups.
Thanks for all the comments about my rehab, tired tonight so will respond when I have a bit more energy.
Went to IOW today to see dd take part in the IOW challenge. She was walking a 1/4 of the island coastal path (33K) to raise funds for the stroke association. Her lovely boyfriend travelled over to the start with her, then decided to accompany her all the way. I am really proud of her and so pleased her bf supported her. At the end of the walk she still looked fresh and was very smiley. I expect she will seize up as the evening wears on.0 -
This is getting silly: the butler wants to top up the water in the nespresso machine!

nespresso machine!
And on that note, why?
The best investment I ever made was a relatively cheap Italian stovetop 'espresso' maker.
It gets used daily.
Whereas the proper espresso machine....
..... now sits in a cupboard.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

I've never fully understood why an industrial economy like Italy sidelines so much of its technological efforts into overcomplicated ridiculously baroque unnecessarily elaborate heath robinson -style alternatives to the perfectly satisfactory kettle.
Coming next, to go with your electric carving knife, the autofork and spoonotron, ony £50 each, a bargain! There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
