Sorry for derailing the thread with the dave perving:rotfl:
You completely deserve it after the rubbish you've had to read from me...perv away! :rotfl:
Thank you so much for your opinions so far...I'm still no more decided but I'm really glad I'm not alone in liking the sapphire and diamond ring!
I know it doesn't matter what anybody else thinks but I'm so fickle...sometimes it's nice to hear another opinion!0 -

Yeah, I would have thought it would have sat flusher, neater and be more comfortable too.
Like I said, mines a trilogy ring. So similar in design to the first ring but obviously only 3 stones (all diamonds) and I find it fits better with my wedding ring than a solitaire does.
I find solitaires to be abit samey. The first ring is gorgeous!0 -

Aw, thank youI also find them samey (although beautiful!), hence why I was immediately drawn to something different. Now I'm worried because it does look a bit different...but I should be more confident and stray from the crowd if it makes me happy.
I feel so stupid for caring so much...it's a ring, something that symbolises something much more important which is the relationship I have with my partner. It could be made out of jelly and I should still love it!
I'll just have to try it on and make a decision once I have it in my hand. I will make sure I take pictures of it when I do0 -

Totally not rubbish
I travelled from the west of scotland to see them in concert so, again sorry for derailing
But the first ring is lovely, its unusual
If I ever get wed and its a big if given that Im 46 and all my ex bfs have been a bit odd, Id want something I liked
You know when you know
The first ring really is lovely, who cares if it looks like an "engagement" ring, it looks fab.
Id wear it even if it wasnt and im not a big fan of rings0 -
Sorry, I much prefer the second one, it's just more 'engagement ring' to me.
But sapphires seem to be really popular at the mo and I know lots of people who have strayed away from the traditional.
Tbh if you're wearing it on your ring finger everyone is going to know what it's for anyway.0 -
I like the first ring better - even though I am not a sapphire lover.
(lol - my OH bought me a sapphire and diamond engagement ring. its one of the reasons I rarely wear it - I don't wear blue!) my much loved eternity ring which I always wear is five diamonds. after all, diamonds go with EVERYTHING!0 -

No need to apologise, I did ask for opinions!
I suppose I have to see if I fall in love with it once it's on my finger...rings do tend to look very different on! At least if I don't fall in love with the first one, I have the second one in mind. I just didn't want that one to cloud my judgement too much!0 -
To me the first ring looks different and the second looks like a lot of other rings out there.0

My 9th wedding anniversary tomorrow and I still love my ring every bit as much as I did the first time I put it on - on a cost per wear basis it was a bargain, though my husband looked close to cardiac arrest at the time.
I designed my own with a manufacturing jeweller and the best choice I made was opting for a rub-over setting rather than claws as it doesn't snag clothing and you are less likely to lose stones. Bezel and demi-bezel settings are also much better at not "catching" on things.0 -
Aren't diamond engagement rings mostly due to De Beers marketing and sapphires or rubies more historical anyway? But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.
