I love the first ring - a little bit unusual!

My engagement ring is more like the second though (mine's point 3 carat and 18ct white gold). Does the second ring have a certificate? You just might want to check it's a decent diamond :)

Ive never been married so my opinion my count for diddly squat, but my favourite ring is a silver one that my mum got me for 7 quid from a charity shop.

I think when you know a ring is the one for you, you know, no matter what.

An ex bf bought me a ring a long time ago and if things had been right we would have got married (but things werent) however, the ring was really inexpensive but I loved it.

The one that feels the best for you, is the one you need to go with.

It does come with all certificates and from what I read, it's a very nice diamond. I liked the fact it came with a certificate which told you a lot more about the diamond. The first one doesn't come with anything and is 0.33 carat total weight which with five stones...doesn't seem that much (although I'm unsure whether this means all the stones, or just the diamonds). Either way, it doesn't really matter as I don't plan to sell it on and I'm not going to bore people with the specifications of the stones in my ring (other than you guys, of course ;))

    I love them both!

I see what the ladies are saying though. The second one seems a 'tad' more bland. I love the sapphires in the first one.

However, the first one looks a bit more like an eternity ring to me; the second one looks more like how I would imagine an engagement ring to look like.

HOWEVERRRRR, as Georgie says, the first one will sit next to your wedding ring better.

    Tricky one.

If the second one was smaller and had a sapphire in, I would say that for sure. (As it looks more like an engagement ring than the first IMO.)

Not much help am I? :rotfl:

Why not do what someone said earlier in the thread. Have both! :D

My biggest concern as I said earlier is that the first ring doesn't "look" like an engagement ring. As you said, it looks more like an eternity ring! It is under the "type" of engagement ring though and I've known of other people who have used it as such.

Another picture for you, this is from somebody who I know has purchased the ring and see it in the flesh.

And another one on. It is far more sparkly in real life, though!

Who cares what it looks like?

Its how you feel that matters, when my gran was marrried at 20 they couldnt afford an engagement ring, in fact my mum said there werent many back then

She got married just before WW2 broke out, whatever makes you happy, you go with

It's lovely (the sapphire one) but I agree with you - (like I said in my post not far back,) it looks a bit less like an engagement ring than the other, but as G said, it will sit better with your wedding ring, and it IS pretty. ;)

They're both gorgeous! Thank you for the photos, either one is a southerly stunning. I like being a bit different hence going for a diamond/sapphire combo but there is something magical about a lone diamond too. Very elegant.

    Not helping am I :rotfl:

The first one does remind me a bit of an eternity ring, but so what? To some people only diamond rings with no other stones are engagement rings. And me personally, I don't reckon I could tell the difference between a diamond and a cubic zirconia! I vote one for the left hand one for the right hand :p

Re sitting well with a wedding ring, you can get wedding rings shaped to fit your engagement ring so I wouldn't worry. My local jewellers who are independent seem quite reasonable, so I imagine others are too.
