Telling my daughters BF to leave the home

  • Most people put their heart & soul into their homes, and it must've been heartbreaking for you to see it treated so selfishly.

If that's how he treats someone else's home, I daren't imagine how he'd treat his own. I hope your daughter has learned about him during his time in your home, and runs a million miles in the other direction! I would be be so worried that he'd treat her as his stand in mother/cleaner.

It's one thing putting up with all and sundry from your own kids, however old they are. But he isn't your child, just acting like one.

You've nothing at all to feel bad about.

Your Daughter could maybe have a think about how she accepted her boyfriend behaving in this way. Never mind to her and you but to anyone at all, it's not endearing lets face it.

I'd let the heat die down a bit then have a good think and talk about why any of you put up with this behaviour for so long.

Get out the Dettox and hand it to your daughter for a good wipe down in the bathroom !

And yup I'd change the locks, we can all cut a spare set of keys for any number of reasons, it costs a few quid and can't harm.

    Best of luck.

I can't begin to thank you all enough for your kind messages of support, I am really truly grateful.

I have spent the past few hours in tears, along with DD, as she packs his bags and dropped them off. I think it will be a long while before she sees him for his true colours, I suppose, on reflection, that I've felt sorry for the lad, and wanted to support him the best way I could. His upbringing has been 'chaotic', and don't think he'd ever had much, which is a great shame. We will see what happens over the next 48 hours but I'll keep you all informed. Thank you all, once again, from the bottom of my heart x

Congrats on putting up with him so long. I would have been shot of him long before this. With so many attractive qualities, i can see why your daughter would find him irresistible. Okay, maybe not. Hopefully if he goes and she stays, the distance will give her some clarity

How long was it before he started messing up your home? Hes been with you 13 months, when did he start treating it the way he did

If she doesn't see him as he really is, then does she think its ok for him to wipe snot on walls and puke in the bath, whether she loves him or not?

Did he pay you any money, rent, food?

You did the right thing, he needs to learn to respect other peoples property or at least be responsible for cleaning up after himself. Im surpised you lasted this long.
  • You did the right thing, I would have asked him to leave too

I'm just wondering who got the blame for the bogeys on the wall and the puke in the bath if he insisted it wasn't him :rotfl:

    I was wondering that too:eek:

OP, you must be a remarkable person to put up with this odious creature for so long. Hopefully, your daughter will see him for what he is soon.

I find it unfathomable and completely bizarre that you put up with this for longer than a week.
Wiping his snot on bathroom walls and dropping oily clothes on carpets...??? I'm embarrassed for you at feeling so weak an helpless in your own home.

She did what she thought was right for her daughter. She's not weak and helpless, far from it.

OP good for you, with all the support you have given I am sure your daughter will make the right decisions. If you had not gone through this scenario, it wouldn't have given your daughter the chance to see him in his true colours.

You sound like a fantastic mum, well done on the outcome.
Never again will the wolf get so close to my door
