Asking a guy out?

I was in exactly the same position in my late 20s. I'd just left a job and I rang an ex-colleague who I had always liked at home and asked if he wanted to meet up some time. He said yes and we were together for 7 years. This was pre-internet so it is much easier for you with Facebook.
Do it. You have nothing to lose and a lot to gain.0 -
As advised, just send him a friend request, then drop him a line to see if he fancies catching up, take it from there.0

Awww this is sooo cute....i really hope it works out for you xx0

Me again, sorry. I've added him on facebook. Now how do I do this?
Instinct is to keep it casual, but I don't really want to end up in the friendzone either. How on earth do I do this? Keep it casual and turn up in a low-cut top?? Or make it sound more date-ish?? Or make it sound casual and just hope it progresses? Seriously, no idea. Tips would be appreciated.Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending0 -
Maybe try the honest approach? Say you've been thinking about him since you left work and were wondering if he wanted to meet up for a drink. He'll either say yes or no!0

I agree with room512 and barny! Lay your cards out on the table. If he isn't interested, you won't have to see him again anyway!:rotfl:0

Ah, well this is the thing. Although I left that job, I work in quite a small field so chances are that our paths could cross again.Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending0 -
So what, you only live once!0

Go for it, you will always wonder if you don't. He may well be thrilled and jump at the chance.
Just check out how often he uses FB though, as if you don't get an instant response you may feel let down and he just may not have seen it.0
