  • Thanks P.

Had a lovely first day, it was so nice to be treated as a human and spoken to nicely! I was allowed to just get on and start sorting through all the paperwork and tidy up the training room, most of it is done now just the last bits tomorrow. Pay day will be 15th of the month, but dates actually go from 6th of the month until 5th of the next month so will be slightly out of sync for a while. I chatted to dh about extending the overdraft until it's all sorted and perhaps changing some dates of direct debits.

I pick up my order from Sp**rts Direct this evening, so have some lovely running kit, socks for dh, a sweatshirt for ds, some socks for male relatives for xmas and an extra £5 voucher for in store which I'll treat my dd to something too.

No extra pennies to pay anything towards debt at the moment, quite boring really!

  • Glad you enjoyed day 1 in your new job Chrysalis, I actually thought it was today for some reason! Hope day 2 went as well.

How sweet of your DD to say that about the Christmas present :) xx

  • Wow a busy couple of weeks, new job is going great I feel like I'm making such a difference and have reestablished old contacts in the social care world and enjoying being back on the ground as it were directly working with older people. I have also been extremely busy with my athletics with plenty to do in the new year.

I submitted a good timesheet for athletics but can't get too happy as pay from new job will be lower than usual, I also need to fit in as much as possible for athletics I I will have a gap over Xmas. I will be working in main job over Xmas and New Year as a carer as obviously no training during this period.

I've paid a bit more to Mum so now owe £300 to her, I have lots of bits and pieces adding up in cashback, surveys and recycled my old phone.

The kids put up the xmas tree today, I now have all their presents and only need to put one more thing in the tins for the chaps in the family then I can post them off.

Two weeks until the end of term, I'm looking forward to 2016 as lots of bills will be reduced and items paid for I will then throw extra money at the car finance and try to get at least two rooms in the house decorated! it's looking shocking in my house.

    Hope all are well.

Sounds like everything is going your way chrysalis.

Decorating never seems to end does it. Oh well we're lucky to have a roof over our heads.

  • Hi P, yes never seem to make any progress with decorating but once Xmas is out of the way we can get on better.

I've amended my signature to show the full extent of the debt, there's quite a few balances that are low so need to get these out of the way, I know I said that I would pay every extra to my Mum but whilst it's 0% I should be making extra payments else where. The statement came in for kids computer today, the interest for this and my dh computer is 15.70% which is terrible so need to focus on these first, I have therefore made an extra payment to the account and also registered online for kids account so that I can make overpayments there when ready. The balances are as of today so that's why there is nothing paid towards them on my sig.

Kids computer has 3 years left to run so needs sorting!

I've been potting around at home this morning and was then meant to be at work xmas lunch but I got the wrong venue even though I wrote it in my diary, ah well saved £15 :o

Off out this evening to ds Xmas play, he was really worried about it last night but hopefully he'll be fine for this evening.

Actually managed to get some washing out on the line but need to get in as darkness descends!

  • Evening, ds play was really good he didn't like the hood of his costume so didn't put it on but still looked cute x

Took some clothes to pennies4clothes place after picking the kids up from school only made £1.30 so put £1 in Xmas 2016 savings tin, the rest of the clothes went in the clothes bank.

I've got to go to Cardiff next Tuesday so staying over with the inlaws on Monday night and will take all their presents, I have completely forgotten to buy prezzies for my niece so will get those before I go.

Should get child benefit tomorrow and mileage pay from second job in the next few days.

I also have a brand new pair of trainers for sale on fb, if it doesn't sell on there I will put on bay of e but hate paying the fees on there.

Right what else can I do....

    Morning Chrysalis,

Haha to you putting the wrong venue in your diary for the Christmas party :rotfl:

Yay to child benefit being paid today, hopefully mileage isn't far behind.

    Have a good day xx

  • Ha mtg, the venue was right in my diary just wrong in my head!!

Child benefit went in as expected but soon gone again due to bills, trainers haven't sold on fb so will have to put on bayofe a job for the weekend when I have more time.

Lots of work in both jobs but all good, busy for the rest of the week then home at the weekend whilst dh goes to the Lake District to do some mad run. Then work Monday morning and a drive down to South Wales on Monday afternoon, staying at in-laws and taking Xmas prezzies, then a staff meeting for second job in Cardiff on Tuesday! Phew :snow_grin

Small spend on groceries this evening, oh btw I realised that when I looked at the budget report for groceries it was since I started ynab and there was some fuel payments mixed up in there too so not as bad as £700+ after all :j

That's all really, keeping busy which is earning the pennies!

  • I am absolutely shattered, busy at work and teaching athletics then picked up the on call phone as the staff were going out on their xmas night out. Had some calls last night but not too bad but this morning a carer phoned as she had passed out at a service users house and banged her head. So flew out at 0730 to cover some of her calls and spent the rest of the day trying to cover her shift as well as answering other calls.

It's so busy for the ladies who usually do it I feel sorry for them but as long as the service users are cared for that's all that matters.

Home now, DH has gone up to the lake district for his run so I'm in my pyjamas relaxing and said to the kids is they wake me up early tomorrow they're in big trouble :D

Finances wise nothing happening, had to get 2 new tyres on the car yesterday as I checked them and they were pretty bad. I especially needed them doing as couldn't have driven to Cardiff safely with them.

I've been paid from main job but it only is 2 weeks money so far, also paid mileage from 2nd job so I need to ensure we're careful over the next few weeks. Opened xmas cards this evening and inlaws have sent £60 in vouchers :T dh wants to buy stuff for the kids but we already have loads of prezzies for them so I may try and persuade him to save them and put towards decorating dd bedroom.

Tomorrow I need to get the trainers and a diary sold, waiting for payment still for recycling my phone and I'll put these towards the next overpayment on the computer.

    Hope all well, C x
