I haven't posted for ages!!! Husband sold his drill for £200 and we did a car boot on bank holiday Monday bringing in a further £140 profit! I'm still swagging and doing geolotto. CC1 is down to about £850 although my aim for the end of the month is £700 - which may be a bit unrealistic given we are off on holiday on the 22nd. An ebay parcel went missing meaning £15 had to be paid back :-( which has dampened my enthusiasm for ebay at the moment.
The garden furniture is still a work in progress hoping to get it finished this weekend in time to be posted on ebay to finish the following weekend.
I changed gas/elec suppliers which should finally take place on 15th may - seems to have taken an age! Renewed house insurance saving £150.
Husband is having so many work calls which is fantastic but is tied up with an extension until July so is having to turn work away as most wont wait that long! Hope it continues up to and after July!
Next thing to look at finance wise is cutting down the food shop and food waste!!!Make £10 per day in May £89.29/£3100 -

Hey, I just found your diary

You sound so similar to me except I'm not as good with the ebay/facebooking as you are. I go through phases but I think I've sold most thing sellable now in our house, haha. I do have a bin liner full of daughter's clothes (she's 6 like yours) which I put on facebook and got a big fat zero replies for, great!!! I should try again now you've inspired me
I'm subscribing so I can follow your journey x0 -
Hi there chasing freedom hope everything is going well.
Hubby is off doing another car boot - 5.30 start - urgh! All the stuff was still boxed up from last weekend so he figured he might as well.
Have been struggling to get motivated all week, due to lack of sleep P has been up every night. Need to do something positive today!!!
Made a couple of sales on ebay yesterday need to get them packaged up and ready to go. Two more washing loads to do - gonna get on that in a minute so they can go on the line and not the tumble drier, more ironing for me tonight!!! Got a joint of beef to cook for dinner and O has a party at midday. I also need to get to supermarket and am hoping not to stuck in the local half marathon which starts imminently!
Contacted sainsbobs yesterday re my coupons which they haven't updated since 28 April (its beeing looked into) - which is a blasted pain as I need to do a big shop and could do with the double points! Am saving nectar rewards to buy next vouchers to pay off my account!
12 sleeps till holiday - can't wait!!! Am hoping it will be reasonably frugal one, lots of walks in the forest, playing on the beach, plus lots of cheap wine to bring home too!!!
Right am off to strip the bed!!! Operation get my @rse in gear starts now.....Make £10 per day in May £89.29/£3100 -
Just read through your diary - well done you are doing so well! We too have high outgoings with not much room for manoeuvre but I guess if you don't make a start you won't finish! I am attempting to pay off approx £20,000 debt and also saving nearly £5000 for a holiday next summer
I am very impressed with your £10 a day effort - I am trying to get my head round that because that would pay for my holiday without affecting my debt repayments. I do the occasional overtime at work so that's the most lucrative way of me earning extra but I don't actually receive the money until a month after so it's difficult to know how to count it.
Anyway well done and enjoy looking forward to your holiday x[STRIKE]Tesco 1 - £200[/STRIKE]. Tesco 2 - [STRIKE]£4350[/STRIKE]. £0 Barclaycard 1 - [STRIKE]£4375[/STRIKE]. £2600 Barclaycard 2 - [STRIKE]£7356[/STRIKE] £6272

Thank you Harryspotter.
I must admit I am totally frustrated - I'm not the most patient and want it gone yesterday!!! I keep looking at the numbers hoping they will decrease before my eyes, its slow progress BUT it is PROGRESS!!!
OH's carboot was a total waste of time, he made a profit of £19 - a whole Sunday morning for that :-( he could've been finishing the garden furniture. Not sure that's going to be done and listed in time for our holiday, and daren't nag OH as he is working soooo hard at the moment.
P still not sleeping looks like a long week ahead!!!Make £10 per day in May £89.29/£3100 -
Morning Mums, sorry to hear OH had a bit of a wasted morning but it's still 19 quid in your pocket (ok so that's no consolation at all, lol)
Is P the youngest? Hope things settle down a bit, its hard getting through the day when you've got a child waking you up every few hours!! We are out of the woods with that now thank god, I don't miss it at all!!
11 sleeps now till your holiday!! think sunny chilled out thoughts
Have a good day x 0 -
P (Paige) is the youngest at 15 months! OH has cold and is having numerous coughing fits where he barks like a blasted dog and last night each fit managed to wake little one - I could've strangled him! He reckons he is sleeping on the sofa tonight but I'd rather have a restless night than make him do that!
11 sleeps yay!!! Means a busy week next week washing ironing and packing not to mention shipping off the pets to various locations....Make £10 per day in May £89.29/£3100 -
Oh what a nightmare, sounds like all of you are sleepless at the minute then!! I would be very quick to agree/suggest hubby sleeps in the spare room if he was barking all night, lol. Hope he shakes it off quickly so you don't have too many more nights. At least it should be gone before your holiday

What pets are you shipping off? Have you got cats? If so what do you do with them? We got 2 kittens last summer and this year will be our first holiday where we have to make arrangements for them. I can't figure out what to do for the best. They are both very nervous/timid (better than they were but still scaredy cats!!) and don't go out for full days yet because they are being terrorised by next doors cat and we don't have a cat flap (it attacks the patio door and allsorts even if they are inside).
I can't decide whether to leave them at home and get mother in law to feed them/let them out for an hour or to find a cattery. They have to be together but I think they'd be terrified in a cattery and stuck in a cage for a week would be awful for them. Am I overthinking it? Hubby keeps saying they are just cats but I don't want to traumatise them!! xx0 -
we have two cats Russian Blues, they are going to my mums for a week, if the weather isn't too hot she will keep them in, but if its really hot I think she will bring them back to ours so she can open her windows! We also have a springer spaniel puppy Max, he is off to a kennels, which is ridiculously expensive (£240 for 10 days) but it is a lovely place and have no hesitations leaving him there.
My old cats used to go to the cattery as my old job involved a bit of travel, I think if you find the right place you will feel much better. Some catteries and kennels are lovely, having said that the first kennels we visited was DREADFUL, we both left almost in tears and my OH said he would rather cancel the holiday than leave the dog there. I know how you feel about the cats, my two will get spoiled rotten at my mums but if they couldn't go there I would definitely take them to a cattery - although I would probably price myself out of a holiday by doing that!!!!Make £10 per day in May £89.29/£3100
