The holidays are all paid for and it is the first one we have had abroad in a few years, OH wouldn't allow me to cancel it even if I wanted to.
Today at work seems to be dragging! My boss has acknowledged that I am leaving for the first time - 3 months notice is going to be a killer!!!
The car park ticket machine is broken meaning today might actually be a non spending day - yay!!! Although saying that I do have three ebay parcels to ship this evening - strictly speaking they have paid the postage so I'm not exactly spending ?!?
Credit card bill for CC1 hopefully is issued tomorrow so I can update my signature, I've only been hitting it with small ebay payments over the last week but hopefully it should go down by £100. If I keep it up for the whole of April it will look so much better come the next statement.Make £10 per day in May £89.29/£3100 -
Got it wrong re the CC statement! Doh! Today is the payment due by date - the statement is issued on the 14th!
Finally managed to persuade OH to help me so I could photograph a load of solid oak furniture to ebay (3 weeks of nagging!) - only in my haste to list I listed as 99p buy it now! Unsurprisingly someone snapped it up, but luckily were very understanding when I explained and cancelled the order etc etc!! THANKFULLY!!!
DESPERATELY NEED SOME SLEEP!!! DD2 is 14 months and has recently started waking up about 8 times a night - I'm a zombie!!!
Am continuing to ebay and swagbucking every spare min, was gutted yesterday was the first day I didn't meet the £5 a day challenge - BOO!!!Make £10 per day in May £89.29/£3100 -
Still plodding... making a payment a day!
OH's work is slow which is a constant worry.
Am looking for some bookkeeping work part time for a bit of extra income, ebay income will only last as long as i have stuff to sell!!!Make £10 per day in May £89.29/£3100 -
Have been working hard for the £10 a day challenge only signed up for £5 a day but have smashed that so far so will try to get the full £300.
I'm finding the whole frugal living thing pretty hard, I like to spend money hence I'm in the situation I'm in and posting on here now!
Tomorrow is going to be a non spending day hopefully! Have 3 of my daughters friends over for a play dateMake £10 per day in May £89.29/£3100 -
Haven't posted for a couple of days! I started my diary 17 days ago and in that time have paid off £230 extra than normal off a credit card and put £125 away for Xmas. I'm in the process of changing our gas/elec supplier!
Other than my £10 a day challenge I think I need to set myself a few goals!
So next week =
- No buying takeouts or wine (our biggest downfall),
- 2 non spending days achieved during the week
- At least £20 extra off of credit card one.
- Bring my lunch in for 2 days
OH is going to do a carboot bank holiday weekend so hopefully we can dejunk and put some pennies away for our holiday.
I also saw a teak garden table and 6 chairs for £20 on local FB page - so we bought that! He has sanded down the table just the chairs to go then that's destined for ebay, fingers crossed it does well, the exact same one is selling for £115 at the moment.
No joy on the bookkeeping front but to be honest I haven't really put myself out there to look, not sure I have enough time with working FT and two littlies! Will keep my eyes peeled on people per hour!Make £10 per day in May £89.29/£3100 -
Hi mumstheword,
I'm also in the same position (debt due to maternity leave - eeek)! You commented on my diary and I thought I would have a look at yours, I have subscribed so hopefully we can encourage each other.
I have also been Swagbucking but no where near £5 a day, is that from your eBay and Facebook sales as well? Do you just complete the tasks and daily surveys on Swagbucks or are there other ways to earn more for little time?
Good luck xxBeginning my journey on 1st April 2015...

Hi SMD,
I am trying everything to earn that bit extra!!! I'm swag bucking but only through searches, surveys, videos and codes, and I probably get £5 through PayPal every 8-9 days but that involves about an hour an evening and some lunchtimes, which I guess is a lot of effort for little reward, but I would only be watching trashy tv otherwise I guess!!!
Most of the money has come from eBay and Facebook sales, a bit from quidco too.
I'm doing sainsburys my coupons which has boosted my rewards significantly! I'm undecided what to do with this pot of money! I have a large Next debt too, which I'm repaying using gift cards bought in tesco as you get 150 points for each £50 spent on gift cards so I'm saving the club card points too.
Will stop by and see your diary and see how you're getting on!!!
How old is your little one? My youngest is 15 months and a little madam!!!Make £10 per day in May £89.29/£3100 -
Hi Mumstheword! :wave
Have you tried putting all of your debts and interest rates into the snowball calculator? http://www.whatsthecost.com/snowball.aspx
We had several cards with eye watering interest rates at one point, and I found the snowball calculator such great motivation- although it might feel like your ebaying and so on isn't shifting the debt as fast as you would like it really is amazing seeing the difference that all those little payments make long term on the interest they save you alone!
Keep going- it is only going to get easier as the figures come down! :TTotal Starting Debt August 2014- £38,061
Current Debt- £3600
Mortgage Offset Savings- £600

Eeek, definitely a lot of time! I try to leave the video app running on my phone when I'm not using it and I can do something else meantime. Then I just log in and see if any easy, free offers to complete or quick surveys to meet the daily target (don't always manage to do that though).
He has just turned 2 and is a menace ...takes that from OH, not me :rotfl: He's just at that brilliant age where he has got his own personality and it's a cheeky one
I received eBay payment today and a small survey one so I have paid £10 to CC2 and that means £10 less to pay on payday!

Thanks Pinkpoppies I've had a quick look and OMG that is pretty scary!!!!
Going to keep chipping away!!!! Got another £5 on swagbucks and started doing the geolotto!
OH seems to be getting on board and is talking about putting one of his tools on eBay - potentially £200. He has got as far as photographing, a bit of nagging and it might actually get on eBay! He has soooooo much !!!!!!!!
Am waiting for a £50 Amazon voucher for opening my daughters junior isa, not sure whether to save it for Xmas or for dog food but it will be useful no doubt!!!
Haven't managed a no spend day yet! Have had courses this week and had to fork out for train fares etc. No wine or takeout since we got back from our weekend away :-) Paid £11 off the credit card since 17th will be happy if I get another £9 or more off by the weekend.Make £10 per day in May £89.29/£3100
