A strange milestone but an important one for me. As it's October 1st I got all the statements and bills out and, as I do once a month, sorted out my monthly accounts; and I suddenly realised that, after many years of having a chaotic approach to money prior to that LBM, I'm in control!

I knew what was going out and coming in and when, what expenses I needed to budget for and when, what I could pay off or put into the savings and when.. And I knew it even before I started checking and putting figures into the spreadsheet.

And when I ran the #checksum on the columns they all tallied with the figures I'd already worked out in my head. It's an inexpressibly wonderful feeling!

My debt is now down under £3k. I have £373 left to pay on my Barclaycard, hoping it's gone by Christmas.

Debt free date is set to July 2017 but it may come sooner!

  • It's over 3 months since I last posted on here, I am now at under 8k debt, CC below 5k for the first time in many years. Had a good debt busting month after a couple of disappointing ones, hopefully some more milestones to come soon.
