Afternoon all,
I just wanted to celebrate a small milestone - I currently have less than £500 left on my Natwest Loan which was £13000 when started and wasn't due to be paid off until 2019:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)
Mortgage - £151.316.54 :eek:0 -
As of today I have more money in my savings account than the total remaining on what started off as debts of £43,246. I won't be officially debt free until September (it makes sense to clear the last CC over another couple of months as it's interest free) but I'm in the black with more to my credit than my debit for the first time in a long time and I actually have an emergency fund of a month's salary
Thank you MSE and the amazing snowball plan, once that started to roll it became quite addictive seeing how little I could spend on anything else to put as much as possible towards clearing the debts. Thanks also MSE for persuading me to investigate PPI redress. I didn't think I had any but I did and a couple of letters and phone calls knocked literally years off my debt free predicted date.0 -
Hello all,
Just a quick check in on here as I have hit two milestones today!
1. Natwest loan balance stands at zero - last DD has already gone out leaving just interest added on 1st August to pay and then it's officially over and done with.....2.5 years early!!!
2. I'm into the £10,000s, not by much but definitely there! Roll on end of August when I will be below 10K for the first time in....well, forever it feels like!:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)
Mortgage - £151.316.54 :eek:0 -

So ... my last drink in the Milestone Inn, was at 25% repaid.
Today, I've just achieved 70% repaid. £37,200 repaid of £52,500 debt.
And it's all been inspired by this forum. No DMP or anything, just done it myself, changed my attitude to money, and searched around for the best deals on things. I don't even thing my lifestyle has changed dramatically, we still do everything we used to do as a family, just a little bit more efficiently.0 -

I'm having a bucks fizz this morning - well a bottle of fizz and a slice of orange! to celebrate getting my debt under 5k. I cannot believe it. I have not been in this little debt for 20 years.
