    Hi PV,

I've just started my MFW journey like you, so best of luck with everything. I'm glad you feel better now you are down to one job, health is much more important as you say.

I love your grid idea, I may use that myself, it sounds like a great incentive!

Hi Runders, good luck to you too on your journey. It's true about your health being more important than a job. I'd rather have my health and a bit less money than being half dead and rich :rotfl:

The grid idea wasn't mine, but I find it's a great incentive. Although I've only crossed off 1 at the moment (crossing off at least one more later today) it makes you eager to cross them off as quickly as you can.

If you like the cinema but don't want to give it up completely (£8 for a ticket??!!!) subscribe to this thread and you can get free tickets. I've been using it for years and have seen some really great films, and some not so great ones . There's also a thread on here for free theatre tickets.

Just renewed my annual bus pass. £540 :eek::eek:.
Good job I put £50 a month away for it. Last year they gave out a 25% discount code, saved me a fortune. No code this year and it's gone up by £20. It still works out cheaper this way even with me working less days. Perhaps it's time to start driving again...

    It's been a while since I last updated, but today I OP'd by £1000 :j

This may be my last payment for a long time as my new wages came in earlier this week and it only just covers the mortgage . Tax credit and money from DH luckily covers the bills so it's doable but tight.

I will keep putting money aside to make up the £500 needed for my OP minimum and I'm still feeding Kevin the pig, when will he ever get full?!

I am pleased with my start into being MF, it's a shame it's going to slow down though.

Another long gap between posts, but have managed to OP £1,200 today :j. Will have to wait for the letter to see how much time has been knocked off the term. The last letter said it was 6 months less in total, so hoping at least 2 months this time. Who knows?! :)

I'm finally back again with an OP of £600 :j. I entered into the unknown world of telephone banking to make this payment . It's actually a lot easier than having to queue up to do it, as my Santander mortgage can't be done online

My dizzy spells have now been put down to being migraines, which in some way is good to have a confirmed diagnosis, but I still don't know what triggers them off.

Christmas shopping is under way, paid for by Amazon vouchers collected throughout the year, so no real money spent yet :rotfl:

    Happy New Year _party_

Hope you all had a great Christmas. Mine was quiet, which was good! Didn't get into any debt as I had saved up Amazon vouchers and paypal throughout the year. I did have to spend some "real money" on a couple of bits :D.

We got a cheque from the Solicitors at the end of December for £450 :j. They said it was from the fact they could do land registry online. I'm not complaining though. This has gone straight in the bank and will be used as payment towards a much needed new car in February. It will NOT pass its MOT as the driver door doesn't open and my DH has to climb in through the passenger side :rotfl:

Made a final OP of of £650 in December which brought my final OP total to £4750 :T

The plan for this year is to OP at least £5000, so I'm busy doing surveys, Tilly Tidies, etc.

Good luck everyone in 2015 for OPing xx

Got a letter from Santander ~ we've knocked another couple of months off the mortgage term, so that's a whole year less :j:j That was only with just under £5K OP.

In other news :D... Just spent the last 4 days looking for my passport. Turned the house upside down, went through every drawer, bag, envelope, box, shelf, cupboard, safe, but could not find it anywhere. Was just about giving up hope of ever finding it when I suddenly had a thought. I took some photos behind the TV unit and guess what was there? My passport!!!!!! :j I'm so relieved. It had another 7 years left on it. We're not going anywhere but you never know when you'll need it. It's now safely tucked up with the others in the safe.

Well, today I've done some money saving. I switched energy supplier and have managed to save over £300 per year :j. My tariff is due to end in February and my current supplier said they could save me £200. Not as good as the deal I got, so bye bye :p

Rang up Sky and managed to get £5 knocked off my bill. Not really happy with that but I took it as it's better than nothing. And a couple of days ago I rang up BT and got my broadband knocked down by half, so very pleased with that :T.

I know some people would say get them all from the same company and save more but I've looked into it and it doesn't save me any more in the long run.

Have been feeding Kevin (piggy bank) with a few pennies here and there and he's getting fatter. Haven't been at work since Christmas Eve, due to holiday and sickness, Should be going back to work on Wednesday, don't want to but needs must and all that :(.

It's been a while but I've managed to make another £500 overpayment :j. This should knock another month off the term. Now to make another £500 to do it all again :p
