well done to you bothLife is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?0 -
because she has only 2 teats you normally get in one litter a runt and a greedy pig(excuse the pun)so one of them may end up gaining loadsa weight and the other one will look smaller nothing to to worry about just means ones getting more milk than the other, when mine have delivered I always treated them to fresh green grass and mum always loves it....a welcomed treat...tell us all about it,did you watch....its facinating how she delivers and cleans them up isnt it....guinea pig mums are super...cant wait to see pics....:hello:Time2start a new year diet for a new me:j0

I heard an odd noise from the dining room but after weeks of leaping at every noise I refused to go running a few mins later my OH went in and called me through. There were two and we decided that since they were breathing ok we would leave her in peace and when we checked a few mins later there were three! I was so proud of how well she did, the babies were cleaned in mins and she has been looking after them all day it is just such a beautiful thing.
Thank you all again for all your advice support and excitement it has meant so much to me to be able to share this you all. Still can't get the camera to work so the photos might be a few days.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -

Hi,
I've been reading this thread as i have 50 guinea pigs myself, I breed and show. There is a lovely forum that I go on occasionally www.rodentswithattitude.co.uk , they also have lots of care advice. There are other forums that I go on but they are really for breeders and serious cavy keepers, I prefer this more light hearted down to earth forum. Might see some of you on there! Money saving in mind, it gives ideas if home made toys and gives lots of free advice.

That's always the way isn't it
That's amazing about you getting the curly haired one out of two peruvians. Genetics sound so confusing. I've had a couple of litters in the past, but it was because, I, like Rummer brought a pregnant sow without realising.
Curly hair from a Peruvian, sound like an Alpaca to me!
