    Hello Saila

We have cats, and as long as we are vigilant, harmony rules in our home. As owners of many different small animals over the years the only ones our cats have been really interested in eating are the hamsters/gerbils. Our guineas are free to roam in their run in the garden and when indoors we just keep the cats locked out the room the guineas are exercising in.

My girl just made a series of strange noises and I though that was her ready to start but sadly still no sign. Maybe it is really close though!

Saila, I know many people that make their own cages and I think they work out cheaper today? Look on this website: www.cavycages.com as there is some lovely cage ideas there. You can even make a lid for them for safety.

Rummer, I hope she doesn't keep you waiting much longer :)

Can't recommend the above site enough - it definately is much cheaper than buying a cage from a pet store, and no store-bought indoor cages are big enough anyway. There's a table on that website telling you the minimum recommended size for however many guinea pigs you have. The most difficult thing is finding stockists of the cubes, but Screwfix sell them at a reasonable price and, if you don't have a local branch, you could always pay for delivery. Home Bargains and Instore also apparently have them, and I got mine from Argos a couple of years ago.

Thank you for those pictures Troo they have really lifted my spirits! Maybe I have misjudged how long she has to go but she is huge and not moving or chatting as much as usual and I can see the babies dancing. Oh if only patience was one of my virtues!
