I am starting to get really impatient and keep peeking into the cage just incase, I was more relaxed having my own DD :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:. Thank you both for your great advice, sadly there is not a countrywide farmers shop near me but there is a local horse feed merchant so I will get the hay from there and maybe explore online where the cheapest big bags of food can be found.
We feed a selection of veg that we have grown in our garden various greens, carrots etc and when the winter sets in fully I imagine we will feed them the bits of veg that we don't use for cooking. I will keep you posted with any developments!

Sounds perfect to me :) I also don't have a countrywide near me to be honest with you (but I know they are more popular in other areas) but a small firm that's not far from me. I just know of them :) I am looking forward to hearing about further developments. Guinea pig babies amaze me as they are born fully furred and active.

Piggles and rabbits can eat piggle food, but only rabbits should eat rabbit food. Piggles need extra vitamins which isn't in the rabbit food. Oh and buy pellets, not a mix because with the mix they'll only eat their favourite bits and leave other bits that they might need. I learned that from the vet when we had our babies.

We actually bought 2 males, according to the pet shop  But the babies are really entertaining, stumbling around right from birth. I'd have loads more if we had the room :D

Oh I'm all excited for you now :j :D Will you post pics when they're born?

I guarantee that the birth will happen the second you leave the house/go to bed :D I watched mum for days, looking in the cage every 15 mins or so (they live in the house), I went into the garden for half an hour and when I came back in they'd been born. Mum and dad were cleaning them up and I just sat there going 'awwwwww they're so cute' :D

yes, cavy pellets contain Vit C which cavies can not produce themselves. Also some rabbit pellets may be ACS which is poisionious to piggies.

Thanks for that, I hadn't heard of ACS til I read your post. Then I googled :D Very interesting.

Troo you made me laugh, that is exactly what I have been doing, the poor thing must be paranoid :rotfl:When I felt them kick for the first time I was a bit tearful so who knows what state I will be in when they are finally born!
Tarry Thank you for the advice re the food, I had heard that they shouldn't eat rabbit food but I didn't know why and might have been tempted to top up guinea food with my bunnies food if I had been running low but I certainly won't be doing that now!

If everything goes ok with the birth I will post photos of my new arrivals, fingers crossed!

I knew about the vic C which is why they always had plenty of cabbage etc, but hadn't heard of ACS before and have just been researching it - it sounds terrible. Is it in "pet" rabbit food too or just rabbit food for rabbits that are going to be eaten? Poor rabbits
:heart2: Give blood. :female: Use a mooncup.
But ensure the two are not connected!

They tend to be a pellet on their own, ie, ACS and clearly marked as such. I don't feed them on my rabbits.
